1.How long will an extension run , a full year or only until the expiry date of the passport with the original visa in it?

Can an extension be transferred into a new passport please.to get the full year?

2. UK has advised despite issuing passports with more than 10 years validity (for early applicants) EU will only accept entry 9 years and 6 months after issue date such that the passport while valid is not valid for Schengen entry after 114 months from issue date i.e. 9.5 years .Is it same policy here and Vietnam?

- your extension will run only until the expiry date of your current passport, but can be transferred to your new passport, with a letter of request to do so from your Embassy.

- many if not most countries require at least 6 months validity of your passport before they will allow you to enter.

You can have stamps and visa info transferred.

If you use a pp with less than 12 months validity then your extension will be issued to that date only

Thailand doesn't.

It depends upon which country a person is from.

Most of those on the visa exempt entry list only need one valid for their length of stay. Others need 6 months of validity.
