webfact
Video: Definitely not cool! - Media shares "black smoke" pick-up as Bangkok splutters video screenshot As Bangkok continued to splutter with air pollution a video shared online showed one of the contributing factors. Black spoke spewing out of the back of a pick-up. The one in the video was going along outside a school where the children were just going home for the day. The following driver could barely see a think so thick was the cloud of noxious fumes. Negative comments were predictably widespread. The first listed by Thai Rath said: "They think they are cool. What is the Department of Land Transport doing? Check them out". Thaivisa reported yesterday that the capital's police were working with the DLT and BMA in setting up black smoke checkpoints until February. They may have their work cut out if this video is anything to go by. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2020-12-18 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Popular Post colinneil
Pathetic situation, vehicles like that pickup everywhere, and what do plod do about it? Answer, absolutely nothing, as if they spent time actually doing the job they were paid for, it would interfere with their sidelines, and playing on their phones.
Popular Post ChipButty
Goes on in every province, I've got a couple of clowns near me bombing up and down blowing out black smoke and whatever they do to the exhaust to make such noise

lesmac
There is no such thing as a clean diesel but they can meet a standard but Thais take cleanish ones, remove the air box modify the exhaust and fit a bigger turbo and this is true of Americans as well
Popular Post ourmanflint
Come on Thailand! Any vehicle this polluting should be seized and put in the compactor with no appeal. Drivers of polluting vehicles cannot be allowed to just keep doing what they want
edwinchester
There's a 'tuning' shop recently opened a few km's from our village specialising in exhausts and performance chips. If your want is extra noise and smoke they're the go to place in the area.

Golden Triangle
On the way back from a few days with the outlaws, coming down route 3, there were 8 Baht buses all in a line, chock a block with school kids, over a dozen in each one, the baht bus at the back of the line was chucking out ridiculous amounts of black smoke, all the kids had masks on but that wouldn't save them from the poisoning. ???????????? Dan O
Not sure about this story accuracy. The reporting of stories in the news are often not matching the headlines. Not sure if this is a result of poor translations, overly zealous and exaggerated headlines just to catch attention or just plain poor information. when the stores in the news are presented like this it gives a very distorted view and are often not accurate. I've also noted that many times certain words used in news stores are not used in the correct context, almost like someone got a new dictionary and are trying to work new words into their writing to impress or illustrate the ability to write stories at an advanced level. The use of the word "mooted" comes to mind as it is used incorrectly in almost every story it appears in and is grossly overused. Excessive exhaust is absolutely an issue and needs to be addressed and eliminated. There is a certainly large cloud of black smoke at the beginning of the video but doesn't appear to be coming from the truck highlighted. It looks more like it came from the tuk tuk on the left and not that truck. It obviously came from somewhere. The truck drove thru the cloud but as the video continues there is no smoke coming from the truck exhaust as it drove along and then stopped. If it were from that truck it would be continuing to spew both while it was driving and also at idle at stop. Starmocihc
Oh look, more white whining. You want to reside in Thailand because it's cheap and fits your life long low-earner pension budget, AND expect everything to be like it was in your home country nanny state. Doesn't work that way, sooner you come to terms with that reality, the better you'll feel. Planes are still flying out 2x a week, otherwise. ???? See and hear me going down the road!!! Newish pick-up,lowered in the back and fuel pump adjusted so the truck will make a lot of black smoke!Cool man!
