He still makes me laugh even though he is sadly gone now.

I don't have a favourite  but Hylda Baker was brilliant and quite a few of us will remember the expression "She knows y'know".

Billy Connoly always cracked me up.

His take on Australian beaches.

Just to add a sour note (as is my won't) I find some very famous, much lauded comedians totally not funny.

I won't name them here for fear of retribution....but does anyone else have a stand-out, not funny, famous comedian?

On female comedians, in latter years I find Sarah Milican (Geordie lass) funny.

Actually yes, I never found Tommy Cooper funny, just annoying, yet many raved about him. Each to their own.????

Of the current crop, Dave Chappelle without a doubt.

What's funny is can't remember his name but so many jokes about the UK police and guy he called chalkie got him into trouble.

Would that be Jim Davidson and "chalky white" ?

That's him thanks use to go to see his live shows in a place in Watford.

There are so many contemporary excellent comedians we do not need to dredge the past. Micky Flanagan, Peter Kay, Jimmy Carr, Sean Locke to name just a few.

I am related to 'cheekie chappie' aka Max Miller, I think he is my great Uncle.

Anyway I have the same love of inuendo as him.

Billy Connolly, The little waster Bobby Thompson, a Geordie comedian

Bernard Manning..he would not be allowed into days World of PC.

I really do like Pakistanis ...but I could not eat a whole one.

Modern UK comedians very few i find funny at all.British comedy is

not as good as it used to be.

regards worgeordie

Billy Connolly before his illness over took him, Now, it's got to be a choice between Micky Flanagan and Jim Jeffries. Depends of course on what mood I am in, because I do find the likes of Tom Allan and Graham Norton funny, at times, but in small doses.
