PM urges Thai people not to panic in wake of new wave of COVID-19 infections

Thai-PM_2.jpg

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha today called on the Thai people not to be panic over what he described as a new wave of COVID-19 infections and to keep themselves informed with updates from the CCSA and state agencies about the virus situation.

In his Facebook post the prime minister urged people not to lower their guard and to wear face masks at all times while outdoors, to maintain social distancing, wash their hands frequently and, importantly, scan the Thai Chana application every time they enter and exit a public venue.

Stressing the need to contain the latest outbreak as quickly as possible, the prime minister said that Thailand has experience in coping with the pandemic, has a strong public health infrastructure and good cooperation from the people.

Who is we, because the only place you will be getting it (and quicker than Thais), will be in your home country.

Rest assured that you will not qualify for a vaccine in Thailand unless you hold PR (maybe), or citizenship.

Maybe the junta leader and his maskless followers should go to Samut Sakon to calm the people.

Nonsense, you will just have to pay for it just like any thing else being a foreigner living in Thailand and be the last in line to get the vaccine may it be in  2022 as there were reports today that Thailand only plans to vaccinate half the population in 2021.

Its ironic to have PM asking people not to panic, while he cancels the countdown celebrations and brings in lockdown with a curfew.

Who is the one panicking?

Few places in Pattaya even display the QR code to scan anymore, nor have a log to sign for those without the app. Most have also stopped the silly temperature scanning.

"Don't panic" Ah, that's the signal to panic.

Only way out of this pandemic will be the vaccine so let's hope it is approved soon and then purchase suffient to vaccinate Thai population at whatever cost as covid has never disappeared in Thailand

Probably a lot of truth in that... got to keep the slave industries going for the economy to flourish, though will the government admit to this being allowed?

very doubtful.

burmese workers add to the economy by working as slaves for a meagre salary. foreigners on the other hand stay in 450 baht hotels in pattaya and sleep with thai woman. ????????

Another lockdown will just about kill the place off, especially in places like Phuket

No they’re definitely not panicking that’s why the virus is coming back they’re starting to relax on it too much. I jogged by a gathering yesterday of dozens of unmasked people by the trail here in Korat the other day by the Cherry Blossom Trees. They’re always there every time I jog by. In the beginning they really took it seriously so I’m surprised now that everyone knows how bad it is. Although they don’t have access to MSNBC Live like I do here through directv with  VPN.

I’m glad he’s telling people to keep taking it seriously.

Not if you pay for it. Then you can get the vaccine in Thailand.

they say a photo says a thousand words, could not be more true than the photo above, the man with the mask on looks like he is about to kill the general but the man at the back is having a laugh, etc. etc.
