Just having had a pacemaker fitted last week I was informed by the hospital / surgeon / read up on, what electronic devices to be aware of e.g. airport scanner / mobiles close to left ear ...

I was not advised by the hospital / surgeon ( an American / Thai ), nor could I find in some online sites that induction hotplates should be avoid or allow a distance of about 70cms.    That is what I normally cook with.

The newer ones should be protected from most outside sources, including airport scanners. Just stay away from Industrial type induction units.

I'd be very careful.  All the consumer units I've owned scatter magnetic waves all over.. I know because I can never use them on a stainless steel surface because they start to heat whatever is uderneath them just as effectively as the pot on the top surface.

I will no longer use an induction hotplate.
Have never used it on a steel surface only outside on a stone surface.
