VocalNeal
Starting to look for a local used bike. Part of that price compared to down south is the cost of shipment. So I am just wondering what part of the silly price thay are going to ask for is the shipping.
jak2002003
Why not go fly down there to collect it and ride it back to Chiang Mai? Would be a bit of an adventure.
stubuzz
Bikes can be loaded onto a train. The post office also delivers.
jackdd
If it's a small bike, you can ship it with Thai post. Just call their hotline and ask what it costs. IIRC BKK - CM was somewhere in the 1500-2000 price range.

revgreen
I hired a truck to carry a bike from Chiang Rai to BKK and then another to return. If I recall correctly it was 3000 each way.

I looked in to this once , a few years ago ,but they wanted the bike log book, and sales receipt ,to prove it was not nicked in Bangkok and you are going to sell it in CM .before being allowed on the train . Post office best bet ,but will they want the same as above ?.

I shipped a bike (Wave) from Kalasin to Kamala. Cost about 4500. including getting boxed up.
MikeyIdea
Thai Post for sure. Cheap and convenient, they even wrap it up for you for a few hundred baht without receipt. Make sure that the ID you state as receiver matches the one fetching it or they won't release it. No need to box it, just ask them wrap it up, they do a good job. You need to be able to prove that you are the owner when shipping it. Edited February 26, 2021 by MikeyIdea
