Question On Thai Law & Land Transfer

Recommended Posts

My wife’s Mother wants to divide the land in the village and on the rice farm within the family. Anyone know the Thai law on a Thai national, that has changed citizenship, able to hold land title in their home village? I know farangs can not buy land in Thailand, but can she inherit it, legally? I have not been able to find other posts on this subject.

Thank you

So long as your wife hasn't formally renounced her Thai citizenship she is still considered a Thai citizen by the Thai government and therefore should have no problems owning land in Thailand.

Also make sure she still holds and has a current Thai ID card, and later on this year most Embasssies will start issuing E-passports :o
