Even if this Woman pays off the 200+ Fines, or does a stint in Jail, its very unlikely She will ever change her driving habits at the age of 58.

She has obviously been driving like this from the first Day she got behind the wheel, and it will be too late for her to change now.

If she says she hasn't got the money to pay the fines, simply lob her in jail where it will be reduced by 500 Baht a day. By the time she gets out she will have a bit more respect for the rules. Its just damn lucky that she hasn't killed anyone yet.

Sounds like a good idea, she can work-off the fines at 500 baht per day, like you say when she comes out she might have the notion to take notice of traffic laws.

The patience of the Highway Police finally ran out in the case of a Bangkok woman living in Chiang Rai in the north of Thailand.

She had repeated gone through red lights and had racked up a staggering 200 and more tickets.

Nichaphat Thitipongpreeda, 58, was snapped going through the lights in her red Nissan.

She had not responded to a summons to go to the police so an arrest warrant from the Chiang Rai court was issued.

Nichaphat, from Ramkhamhaeng, was arrested at her house in the Fah Thai housing estate in Tha Sut district.

The police urged the public to follow traffic rules for their own and others' safety, reported Daily News.

So where does the problem lay?

With the offender or with a system that simply refuses to enforce laws until a laws has been broken by one individual a couple of hundred times without prior consequences.

And why do I think this guy goes right back on the road in no time flat?

.. a pattern, first the motorcycle wannabe on the fast bike who decides to run a toll gate and almost looses her head....too bad the Beachhe with an attitude decided to wear her helmet.. and now this 200 plus ticket abuses... and the BIB go after her.. Wow.. what next, going to the rural provinces to capture all the little kids racing their bikes on the roads....

Then what happens.  She is soundly given a tongue lashing, made to wai, pay a couple of thousand THB, and all is well again until she final kills someone?

unbelievable -- just thai road driving  standards yet again !!!

And what about the 18,000+ (or was in 28,000+) found driving without a license during the New Year holiday. Frightening, isn't it, but hardly surprising in a land where obeying any law is considered optional.
