Debt Ridden Man Hangs Himself: Soi Banglamung 1/7

Concerns over an outstanding debt lead to suicide in Banglamung.

Police Sub-Lieutenant Jirasak from Banglamung Police Station was called to house number 111 in Soi Banglamung 1/7 just after Midnight on Thursday to investigate an apparent case of suicide.

At the scene, rescue workers were already attending to the body of Khun Soomana aged 47.

He had apparently hung himself using a length of material from a wooden rafter in his room. The body was discovered by his cousin who confirmed that the deceased was a quiet man who did not drink and was single.

However, he had borrowed some money from a local money lender and was unable to keep up repayments which caused him to fall into a depressed state which is thought to have led to him taking his own life. Police made a full inspection of the body and room and found nothing to suggest the involvement of a third party in his death.
