Usually, i do this from my iPad and the extranet version works but now, despite trying different browsers, checking carefully, and using app and online versions of the site, i cant make it work.

My question is this:

Does the instruction that the first report needs to be made in person apply to each entry to the country made under one’s current visa; or to each entry made under one’s current visa extension?

The advice is not absolutely clear in the guidelines at Thaiembassy.com:

”You have to report in person or by mail on your current visa or visa extension once in the past before you can do an online report.”

Your first report ever is in person or via mail. After that you can do it online.

Currently reports of many doing it successfully and others having no luck.

My previous 90 report was done without issue end Oct. For the one that was due end of Jan, I had to go in person as nothing worked. I also used the web and app.

There is a glitch and it's not just down to doing an extension since your last 90 report.

What is your Next Report Date? Location/office?

Assuming you're in the window -15/1(0) and can't get past page 1, then it may be too late to file by post, but that depends on the exact due date.

You may have to report in person.

There is no discernible pattern, that I can see, to the inability to report online. It used to be pretty much 100%, since introduction. Most issues being user error (date, data entry). Since mid last year (?) there have been hundreds (thousands if incl FB forums) of reports of issues.

I’m 7 days before the due date and in Bangkok. My point is that I’ve always understood the online system to be available following first ever report in person but the guidelines at Thaiembassy.com could be read as meaning one has to report in person after each entry into the country on a current extension.

That was one working theory, that has since been disproven, again based on first-hand experiences here and on FB.

New passport, new entry, extension, etc. have all resulted in both successful and unsuccessful OL 90-day reporting.

Seven days is probably too late to file by post, so maybe make an appointment at MTT.

So, after days of trying to use the online 90 day report facility in a variety of browsers, on my iPad and friends’ computers and getting nowhere (despite success previously), here I am at the temporary office in Muang Thani, which is open, airy and calm compared to the main office at Chaeng Wattana. I’m waiting for lunchtime to finish and the office to reopen already having obtained my queue ticket.

Despite showing him clear maps, my taxi driver was flummoxed and kept driving around the area. So I made him stop at the nearby Ibis hotel and showed him how close it was, after which we arrived without a problem. The taxi fare, up the expressway from Rama 3 was 259 baht (I know there are cheaper ways but the taxi suits me).

Nowhere, however, despite an hour spent searching earlier this morning, could I find the actual address of this new, temporary office, although it seems to be in Popular Road! Anyhow, I’ll see what happens when the office reopens. I don’t have an appointment so will see how long it takes to get done once lunch is over). There are no shops here, apart from the

pbotocopy office next to the entrance, and the young woman looking after the 90 day reporting queue said the restaurants were 2km away.

There are 12 of us waiting (I’m the only non-Asian here atm) and a nice warm breeze is blowing through the open waiting area. I could be freezing and locked down in London so I’ve no complaints really, except that it would be great if the online system worked more often.

OP, just a heads up that the Thaiembassy.com website is a commercial link, not connected with any Thai government organisation. Look at the bottom of the page and it is confirmed there.

Consider any 'advice' offered there with that in mind.

Many more people came back after lunch but everything moved quickly. Doing my 90 day report took 15 minutes from the time the office reopened after lunch. Very efficient.

By the way, one of the officers told me that the online reporting site was being modified. There is, of course, nothing about this on the site itself. That might explain why it wouldn’t work.

Just tried online and failed. Reports I am on overstay even though I renewed permit to stay in early January. Immigration seems to be incapable of using their own systems. Another trip to MTT I guess.

It's very frustrating. I did the MTT report last week. Make an online booking works well.

You mentioned that you "renewed permit to stay in early January"

I'm guessing annual extension. This could be reason for your online report not working.

They need to fix it.
