Intellectual Property Lawyer In Thailand?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Does anyone know of a good lawyer in Thailand who specialises or is experienced in intellectual property issues, preferably in Bangkok or Phuket.

A Bangkok company has used my video footage without permission in their promo video so I need advice and assistance if they don't pay my invoice.

Thanks

Thaitanic, if you haven’t received payment yet there may be a way for you to handle it without a lawyer. Send each of the company’s registered officers a registered letter giving a deadline for payment. If no payment is made by the deadline, report each of the officers to the police and if the police do their job right they will arrest the company officers. They then have the choice to settle with you out of court, or to let the matter go to court, at which time you would then probably need a lawyer.

Tilleke and Gibbins are no fly by night outfit at all.One of the better ones around IMO.

I second this opinion.

A friend used Tilleke and Gibbins in a family dispute case & was very happy with all aspects of the company. (except the rates :o )

Cheers,

Soundman.

On second thought, Thaitanic, get a lawyer from the start, ie already for the report of the offence to the police. Be sure to claim also a refund of your costs such as legal fees, etc.

Thanks for all the recommendations everyone. For the time being I've just sent their MD an invoice for the full amount and a covering letter by registered mail. You never know, they might just pay it. I don't want to get heavy unless I have to. Will PM Ed Kelly too.
