I am still waiting for the smart meter to be installed...could take up to 6 months?? This is Thailand... Meter paid for in installation 4K Bht.. so going on figures above roughly 731Bht per month. Amortization and expected lifetime? No idea... Comes with 5 year warranty...cough cough...money paid day is when warranty stops in Thailand. Inverters have 5 years...Might last 10 if lucky...really lucky... Solar panels maybe 20 years... 1 lightning strike may change all of that.. The system is earthed for such an event.. Expected maintenance...Clean the PV panels every six months which is included in the installation cost for the next 5 years.... That was a surprise in contract... Repair cost?? no idea... 5 years warranty to worry about that... You quote in kw, which is actually 'power '. I will assume you actually mean kwh, energy. For example, a cordless drill battery can typically supply upwards of 12V@>10A=>120W. But it certainly can't do that for an hour. KWH is unit of energy. Minor point but eliminates confusion and irritating replies like mine. Sorry, as an EE these things matter to me. Remember the hubble mirror was wrong because of confusion in units of inches vs millimeters during fabrication ? Installation looks top notch. You obviously did your homework. I have 2 installations, first one is 8.6Kw in panels on a Must 6Kw Grid-Tied inverter, total insulation cost 140,000 baht, ROI in about 3 years. After the learning experience of the first, my new house has 20.7Kw of panels on 3 Hybrid Inverters of 5.5Kw each, total 16.5Kw slaved running single phase (can run 3 phase too). I discovered I could buy the inverters direct from the factory in China, shipped all taxes and duties prepaid (skips customs here entirely) for 49,000 baht for all 3, half the price of Lazada. I also have 26KwHrs (usable 21) of LiFePo batteries sourced and shipped the same way for 85,000 baht including BMS and Active Balancers. Including installation about 450,000 baht. Wiring around the Schneider load center is interesting. I rarely if ever use the AC, The batteries seem to be a very high expense within any system, could I use the solar power to run the house and pumps during the day and revert to PEA for night and dull days? (~1500bht) I was more than happy with the arrangement of accommodation set up before it happened knowingly I could build up a relationship with these guys with the installation. So I will progress with this thread and put some photos and links up to web pages etc.. After day 4 I am producing way more than what is being consumed... First up I really did not want to post my power bill but I have had heaps of questions about previous consumption. The bill is not accurate consumption as I returned to Thailand January with lock out fellang since March last year.. Long story.. I do know from memory from my previous 8 years living here that I would expect this time of year for the Bin to be in the high 4,000bht range... Maybe 4,600bht and it will build up over the wet season to maybe 5,400bht.. Each year it builds up.. The consumption shown in the last 6 months is low for reasons yours truly has not been on the ground... I wish to show a full picture here of my installation. The ATM has been broken until I got back... On the bonus side the Durian is fruiting for the first time..4 years... with all the water from irrigation.. As many posters are saying.... To good to be true with output.... A big shortfall with this system is the poor readout display. Even though the main screen shows power coming from the grid the box shows a minus which means it is being fed into grid. The meter is spinning backwards all day.. Sheeet software readout.. In the schematics of wiring I think there are 2 but I watched the installers remove 1 during initial start up. There is a scrolling readout with active energy IMP/EXP and Active Power which I do not comprehend??? Not sure which side of power input it is coming from....ie PV or Grid?? If you size the system to maintain your pool pumps then the meter will rarely, if ever, go backwards so no attract teh attention of PEA. These are far more believable than your previous claims of 50-70 units production and 40 units use a day. It's this that's generating your usage/export/import data. One assumes that the manuals for all your devices are in a pile of documentation somewhere. The one fitted is a Chinese model not a Huawei brand. Chinglish manual included. If the sensor is generating the data then maybe this is what is causing the unusual production/consumption readouts?
