Online B.Ed from Oregon Institute of Int. Ed, used in Thailand?

Featured Replies

I am considering doing this online B.Ed, to be used for employment in Thai school with Work Permit etc.

I have a 120 hour TEFL cert and 10 years+ of full-time experience within Asia, but not having a degree is a stumbling block to getting a full-time position in Thailand or China that includes a Work Permit etc.

It is accredited in France:

Is there a way to check that this accreditation will be accepted by all and sundry in Thailand when it comes to full-time employment, and allow for a WP etc?

Is it possible to get a WP while studying this, as it is a B.Ed?

I would bet a Kings ransom that it's not worth the paper it's written on, at least not to any credible institution. You need to be very selective with regard to online degrees.  Many that purport to be officiality  recognised are not.  Make sure you pick an accredited University and an accredited course.  As far as I can see, this institution is not so accredited.   Interesting to read that it is banned from offering course to residents of Oregon State? Odd that don't you think?

Is there a Ministry of Education or Department of Labor list of accredited educational bodies?

They must have one for internal use, but is it accessible to the public?

The B.Ed is also provided directly, without the Oregon Inst.

There is one online for US and UK accredited institutions.

Despite French accreditation, PCIE appears to have been set up and run by people in Thailand.

The French accreditation checks out.

The Rector of the Paris Academy, Rector of the Ile-de-France academic region has approved PARIS COLLEGE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION as a higher education establishment. Therefore, Paris College of International Education is a higher education institution recognized by the Paris Academy as degree-granting. The Rectorate of the Paris Academy is under jurisdiction of the Ministry of National Education and Youth and Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.

To verify PCIE, visit French Ministry of Higher Education Database and search Paris College of International Education

If it is accredited by the French Ministry of National Education, does that mean that it is accepted by schools and government departments in Thailand for WP purposes etc?
