Trained sniffer dogs to be sent to airport to detect asymptomatic COVID-19 cases

Sniffer dogs, specially trained to detect people infected with COVID-19 who do not exhibit symptoms, will soon be sent to international airports and seaports to help identify asymptomatic cases among arrivals from abroad.

Court asked to investigate incident in cell at Bangkok remand prison on Monday

A petition was lodged with the Criminal Court today (Tuesday) by Arnon Nampa, one of the 22 core Ratsadon leaders and followers currently being held on remand, demanding an inquiry into the suspicious conduct of a group of prison officers.

Corrections Department claims officers wanted to separate Ratsadon detainees for COVID-19 screening

Thailand’s Corrections Department has issued a clarification, in response to a claim by Anon Nampa, one of the seven core Ratsadon leaders detained at Bangkok remand prison, that prison officers acted suspiciously in trying to separate some of them in the middle of the night.

Late last month, Thailand’s military announced that it would begin cutting the number of high-ranking officers in its forces. Though the move itself is far from surprising and is in line with previously unsuccessful efforts in this area, it nonetheless spotlights ongoing efforts to address a longstanding concern in the Southeast Asian state.

(Reuters) - Eight people, six of them women of Asian descent, were shot dead at a massage parlor and two day spas in the Atlanta area on Tuesday, and a man suspected of carrying out all of the attacks was arrested hours later in southern Georgia, police said.
