Thanks.  If I recall correctly, my wife had asked for information on the fit to fly certificate the same day I posted my comment.   She did this through facebook and received a response from a woman that I think had been in Thailand for 2 days, flying there from the U.S.

I posted my response to your first question, about the time in quarantine before reading this .

You just need it to get the COE. I can guarantee you that a cheap yearly policy offered by many UK insurers for about £65 will get you your COE. It will not pay out but it will get you the COE. I used one and so have many.

What makes you so sure? What are "main vaccines"? There is no "main" some finished trials and approvals quicker than others. Btw, peole have been reinfected despite Pfizer/BNT jab.

No vaccine is 100%. I had HepA despite Twinrix jab.

The "main" vaccines are NOT the ones developed in Russia or even necessarily China. Does this mean those vaccines aren't effective?  No.  It just means we have no transparent confirmation that they work, so who knows?  What we do no about the "main" vaccines is that they DO work, and work very well.

As far as your paranoia about vaccinated people, it is just that, paranoia. When you have a vaccine that is 90% effective, you are NOT a substantial threat to anybody else. You probably have a better chance of dying from an old flu strain than getting Covid from a vaccinated person.

With the changes coming next month, what happened to the onerous $100,000 insurance coverage requirement? Only heard that the Fit To Fly requirement was lifted.

Where did you get the 100k requirement from? Embassies require minimum 400k baht inpatient and 40k baht outpatient coverage.

That depends upon the visa you have or are applying for.

Only a STV, OA, OX and non-o visa for retirement requires it.

I spoke to the embassy this morning any were helpful.

She said as long as the covid policy (via https://www.tipinsure.com/CovidRegional/step_1) showed the policy for 3,200,000 baht had minimum limits of 400k inpatient and 40k outpatient they would accept it.  Problem is that site say they will only send the Terms and Conditions after you sign up and pay.  That is crazy.  Who would buy an insurance policy without knowing the T&C?

What type of visa will you using for entry. That determines the insurance requirements.

I am only aware of the covid 19 insurance requiring a minimum of $100,000 (about 3.2 million baht) coverage.

Not sure how the 400k baht inpatient and 40k baht outpatient would be required unless you require that insurance. There are insurance companies that are offering insurance that meets both requirements.
