A mother who drove her motorcycle to her child's school and attacked a seven year old putting the child in hospital has been charged with assault.

"Tato" an assumed name, aged 7, has an eye injury and is recovering in Sateuk Hospital in Buriram in Thailand's north east.

The attack happened at Ban Khi Lek school on Wednesday.

Thip, the mother of another child in the class, went to the school and attacked Tato by wringing his neck and throwing his head to the floor.

Khaendaeng police invited her in to explain herself and admitted what she had done.

In an attempt at mitigation she said that both her children were sick and that some medicine had been stolen.

Thongreuan, 55, the phu yai ban said that Thip was essentially a good person who had a job but could be a bit highly strung. She had had a problem with parents of another child before.

She did it out of love for her kid but didn't think things through, he said.

Police spoke to Thip for an hour before charging her with assault and letting her go home.

More serious charges could follow dependent on medical reports on the injured child.

The police promised justice for both sides, reported Daily News

Why, what do you think it means?

Khi is Thai slang for poop, it all depends on which tone is used, though, because in theory every Thai Word can have up to five different meanings depending on the tone. The guy who wrote the original post should know that, since he knows the thai word for poop, which makes me think he’s a troll! Since this is the name of a school, it’s safe to say that in this particular case khi has a totally different meaning!

Follow up stories in the Daily News newspaper gave some background to the story.
The mother had attacked the child because he had been bullying her child. In the school playground the day before, he taken some medicine her child was taking for a stomach condition and thrown it away in the bin. Both her children were ill at the time.
PS the name of the school, Khee Lek, translates as cassod tree or Thai copper pod, a species of tree in Thailand which has inter alia medicinal uses etc
