Seventeen medical personnel at Samut Prakan provincial hospital have been quarantined after a patient failed to disclose information about his contact with a person infected with COVID-19.

The hospital said, in its Facebook post today (Friday), that two doctors, nine nurses and six other medics, who were in close contact with the patient in question, have had to enter self-isolation, depriving the hospital of badly-needed medical staff.

It warned that any patient who refuses to provide information about previous contact with an infected person will face legal action and will be liable to a maximum fine of 20,000 baht on conviction.

Every person entering a hospital should be treated as being infected until proven otherwise with a test

Is that what this person was doing - going for a test ?

To say that Thai's seem to be hard pressed to tell the truth about their travels is to say it very succinctly as saving FACE is everything and they could care less of what the ramifications might be when the truth arises.  At least they did not say they lied or misled somebody until way after the fact and the damage was done.  Prosecution needs to be undertaken just like for an HIV man or women who knowingly infects others and never tells them they have HIV before the act is consummated.  Ok yes, it is not just Thais, but here in Thailand it does seem to be the majority unless of course your that Nigerian Prince.

This patient should spend some time in jail to show that lying to supposedly save face does not pay.

Putting anybody in danger of catching the COVIDS virus in a manner like this, should be treated as a criminal offence.

Geezer

Do not panic if any patient has no symptoms.
