Still Requiring 90 day Check in now?

Recommended Posts

There is no grace period or amnesty at this time and I don't expect there to be any.

You have 7 day after the report date that includes that day to do the report.

If early enough (15 days or more or slightly less) you can also do it by mail.

You can't (couldn't) do a report on-line until 15 days before due date. I was unaware the system was abandoned until attempting to do a report within the allowable time frame.  Obviously by that time it was already too late to do it by mail (has to be done 15 days before report date).

My IO is 125kms away. With some problems in completing an upcoming extension I will be unable to lodge it before the 7 working days after the due date for a report.  It's not feasible to make an extra trip just to make a report so I will have to wear a 2000 baht fine because of their lax practices, and my failure to regularly read through the lengthy, rambling 90 day reporting topic on Thaivisa.

The OP was asking about contingencies if a lockdown occurs, considering such a scenario would mean it would be impossible to get to an office in person. A question without answers at this stage.

Immigration did not close during the lockdown last year so I don't think it be closed if another one is done.

Even with the amnesty that started last April many people still did their reports and some offices were still telling people they had to be done.

I usually do my 90 day report online. I last did it in mid-Feb, got the email saying it was approved and meant to print it out soon after but the system went down. So now I can't actually access the last approval form I am supposed to have.

If I do a 90 day by post, (which I'd have to do soon,) including the last 90 day report isn't needed is it? I really don't want to have to go to MTT in 3 weeks. Thanks. (And at a guess thanks Ubonjoe.) I would search more here but can't seem to get the search function to work.

Send a copy of the approval email with your mailed in report. They should be able to verify your last report by checking their local records.

Yea, you still have to check in every 90 days.

I've been doing online reporting since awhile ago. Thankfully, for me it has always been reliable even though apparently Internet Explorer is required but I've been happily using other browsers since I use mostly Linux.

Of course, I got caught out when the online system went down. I went to my nearest IO (Promenada Chiang Mai) but was told I needed the slip they normally attach to your passport. I said I don't have it since I did it online. Well, do I have the confirmation email? Yes. Well, had. I normally just a take a glance, note the next reporting date down, count 15 days back, note it on my calendar and hit then delete.

Anyway, the girl at the entrance and the poor western volunteer looked flummoxed for the moment (and dare say, like a person who's gonna cry lol); she hinted that "they" might be a bit angsty inside the office so, anyway, I said maipenrai and went my merry way.

Of course, I do plan to return to my home country some time this year, so I'm in the "couldn't be bothered" category.

OP, do note that it's 2,000 fine if you have been found to be late. It's apparently 4,000 if caught. I don't know how on earth do you get caught but I'll stay on the straight and narrow. The last time had my passport checked was on the road driving from Chiang Mai to Nong Khai.

I did 90 days a few times on-line, quick and smooth, but like others mention the system is down. So last time I was a bit late doing it by mail and got the confirmation with a reprimand that I should do it sooner. This time I made sure I was early enough and sent my documents by registered mail and got the confirmation that it was received at Lak Si on March 18th. That is more than a month ago. I had my wife calling their hotline number 1178. You expect to be helped from there on. The lady was friendly but could not help us and gave two numbers, one of which we had already tried in vain. So now I do not know the status of my report, all I have is the post office receipt and I also don't know what my next due date is. And for the report they require the previous one.... Any suggestions, other than going there myself?

And if you did take advantage of the reporting delay allowance you had to personally appear for next 90 day report (could not be done by mail).

If receipt is not received you have to go there yourself with your mailing proof after waiting 30 days - as they very busy and last week a holiday I would not go until next late next week myself.  You may still get the mail receipt.

I skipped my report that was due last April and then in August I did a catch up report when I went to apply for my extension.

In April of last year online reporting did work for me. First one was done in October after they changed the system.

There must be many of us who have used the on-line 90 day reporting system for many years.  I really cannot understand the motive for the Immigration Beureau not repairing the system for at least two months, especially considering the risks it now  imposes on reporters travelling across the city to do this in person. Yes, I know this can be done by mail, and I have resorted to this method this time. Hopefully at some time in the future I will receive my confirmation that this has gone through. As a systems analysist and programmer in a previous life I am well aware that a twelve year old could get the system up and running again with a few key strokes. Can anyone explain why  this has not been done, and what are the motives for abandoning this system?

As a former IT specialist myself I couldn't agree with you more!!!

i've done this in like SIX different provinces......some only want your passport.  some want copies, pictures, forms, everything.......some only want a few copies......

strange thing........of course I was most prepared when they only wanted my passport.

Bangkok - received my mail report back with notice I had to appear as previous report had not been made within 90 days.  After making that inperson was able to access on-line system for next report for first time ever and happy for awhile.????

My money is on a fatal server crash and finding out no one had ever done a backup. Wouldn't be the first time i've seen this.

If it ever comes back it will be devoid of historic data.

Any DEC/VAX-11/780 experts take a step forward.

I have to do my 90 day this week at Jomtien.  Does anybody know if they are requiring extra documents?  In the past I just showed up with my passport but I did my last report on-line so don't know if procedures have changed.  Thanks.

It is the same as before according to recent reports I have seen.

Relatively painless, when I got there there at 8:15 there were already 160 people ahead of me, but the queue moves rather quickly and I was all done and dusted by 9:45.  By the time I left there were probably 300 people waiting.

I have the online system as well, took forever to get it working and was able to use it twice before it broke.  I think they prefer it this way, can scrape more 2k from more people.  Someone somewhere is getting rich!

Last year 90 day reports were put on hold as many couldn't get to the IO, and I'm fairly sure the on-line system was working anyway.

In Phuket last year there were army roadblocks preventing travel between districts. Although open, Immigration was not accessible for many of us. Their attempts at providing secondary offices in several locations was a failure in many ways.

My concern was about getting to the office if a general lockdown occurs, not whether it was open or not.

I have to do a 90 day report tomorrow at Chamchuri Square. It's been a long while since I went in person. Plan to get there for 9am (when it opens, I think).

Sorry for the question, but what is required when actually notifying in person? Copies of passport? Photo? I'm guessing the TM47 form? Anything else?

Thank you for any assistance. J

Not useful.  It was actually an IBM 1500.

At the most a completed TM47 form, the receipt for your current report and your passport.

Normal Bangkok requirement is passport/last receipt/TM47 but can't say for sure as one stop center stopped allowing general public to use when moved to Chamchuri Square from Ratchada (and before that Phahonyothin ) where all could do 90 day reports.

I suspect you may receive a notation to make sure it is mailed on time in future (15 or more days prior to due date) but if last report was OK expect it will be processed.

At MTT all they asked for was my application form (TM47), see my passport and take my old 90 day slip.  I brought photos, passport copies, and copies of old 90 day report and TM6.  They didn't even look at those things and handed them back.  My strategy is always bring everything just in case.
