Hi, have bought a security camera from Lazada .

Setting up was fairly straightforward via the app Yoosee, connecting to my WiFi, taking a screenshot or video, sending above to my phone etc

Now I want to get motion detection working with a notification and screenshot via email when any movement is detected.

 {I did this on a previous camera and despite being a pain to set up (eventually created a new email and allowed 3rd party app with a 16 digit password ) it worked okay, I have many stray cat photos as proof  !! , until I updated the camera and lost this function , this camera has now failed completely}
Anyhoo, this new camera is a different set up and is asking me for an email address and a “SMTP Authorisation code “, Google comes up with SMTP Authentication only but goes into some techno jargon that is well over my head !!

Anyone know what “ SMTP Authorisation code “ is or what it could be referring to ??

In simple terms please ????

TIA

Andy

Can you take a screenshot of the config page, I’m guessing it’s Chinese, sometimes things get lost in translation - there should be smtp server, ssl or tls option, authentication method, username, pass and port.

It’s a very simple page,

which will presumably lead to another page but I need to get past this first.

The config page for my previous camera was this.

That last looks like you complete the smtp details and then press test, on the test email their could be a authorization code to complete the process.

Sorry, I didn’t understand, I maybe confused the issue by posting the 2nd photo ( from my defunct camera settings) which is what I expected to see .

All I currently have is the 1st photo and don’t know what “ SMTP Authorisation code “ to enter to progress.

You setup your smtp details as you have done in the first.

Press test

You should receive a test email to your account.

On that email there will be an authorization code.

I would suggest the email password ?

According to this YouTube video it is the email password but that doesn’t work for me on both my emails.

Check the first 45 seconds.

Checked the POP/IMAP settings and all is good but I still get “SMTP or passwords mismatch “ error message and the page doesn’t move on to the next stage.

When I did my 1st camera set up, a few years ago, I remember there was something about allowing 3rd party apps in Gmail and I had to create a 16 digit password, will give this a look at.

Turns out it was the email password and I had to enable “ less secure apps “ in Gmail. As I had to use an email address and it’s corresponding password on the app i created a new email address to be used purely with the camera and receive alarm screenshots on an app ( Gmail app ).

Thanks @CharlieH

Pleased for you that you found the answer you needed and are now able to use the system as you wanted.

This one was so much easier to set up than the last, required no server , port or encryption details, only the wording/translation  threw me ????
