Upwards indeed. but the key to this mess is where upwards it is funneled to. Make hay while the sun shines because the whole house of cards is beginning to fall and the time for nest-feathering grows shorter.

Thought that was going to happen a good while back but then they historically used military might to retain their seats at the trough. Even if it did happen those that have made billions will go overseas to live their lives  and the governments that will shelter them, as I have said before, will put looking after their money before any morals unfortunately.

Why people are so negative about everything Thailand is doing? Nothing looks to be good for the 'experts' here on Thaivisa. Do you think your home country is doing better? If so, go back there and take your negative minds with you.

Agreed. so. It is time to use the tactics they themselves developed and deployed. Send special forces teams to hunt them down and dispose of them. No exceptions, no quarter. but get the money back first - for the people on whose backs it was actually made. A change which is reversible is not a change.

Well that would be radical and require planning, vast sums of money and skilled operatives. Ultimately to kill a snake just cut its head off.

The Prime Minister is optimistic that the Thai economy will continue to grow this year, despite being hit by a new wave of COVID-19, currently being controlled.

Out of his depth now, he has nothing new to offer, 2nd, wave, 3rd wave and just optimistic about things.

He purposely delayed any purchasing of vaccines until the Thai company could start to manufacture at a much lower price. That doesn't start until mid year...

He should be kicked out of office.

so that the 99% can more fully appreciate their suffering without being distracted.

Plus more free time to grovel at the feet of the 1%  hoping they will throw some crumbs of sustenance.

Of course everything is fine in Thailand .. they make the people happy. Tell lies and manipulate the figures and the majority of Thailand is happy again, because they don't care, They are too busy with earning or borrowing some money to have a living, because jobs are not available at the moment, and the rich stopped spending their holidays because there are too  much days off. Everything is going down except the figures... grow grow grow...

Should have said the Government has 140bnTHB with another 240bnTHB in emergency loans to draw-down if needed (he didn't say where these come from but I suspect China knows something about that).

Not looking quite so healthy after a slight adjustment of the wording... and only 37bnTHB to combat what will be the epidemic of the century. I suspect it's not enough or anything like enough.

A drop in the ocean but they may have to defer bailing out Thai Airways 520bnTHB debt for the foreseeable.

Which will doubtless suit them very well. All those free fights...!

As long as the submarine, second hand tanks, new helicopters and APC orders go ahead....that is the critical element in all of this

Please state your reason for believing Thailand is doing a good job, been to Pattaya lately, also who said anything about others doing better although in terms of vaccination Thailand lags behind most of the world, FACT.

Most people's problem is with the huge amount of BS emanating from ALL government officials and agencies, if you believe what they are saying and doing that is your prerogative.

Hopefully by the time the 4th wave arrives he will have battened down the hatches on his shiny new Chinese submarine and sail away with his totally useless ministers as crew.

It’s all very well, but at the end of the day, 35 million people is about half the population of Thailand. And that is just the target. Unfortunately Thailand has a history of falling short on targets.

whilst the vaccine purchases sound like a lot, they just aren’t enough to do the job.
