Pattaya's police searched an area of the city in Naklua after reports that more than 50 women were selling themselves outside karaoke lounges in contravention of Covid-19 rules.

They found nothing, reported Sanook.

Nothing was open and the lights were all out.

It was thought they must have got wind of the raid.

Undaunted Bang Lamung station chief Pol Col Sakchai Suwannukun had his men will patrol the area at night in case they opened up again.

A patrol car will also be stationed in the area.

Earlier Siam Chon News sent in a reporter and found more than 50 women openly offering sex in the area known locally as Soi Esso or Nakata.

Just proves that the 'Early Warning of Raids' envelopes are still working well.

The grubby salacious newspaper article may have been a hint. I wonder if any reporter actually went there or talked to anybody.

Probably a local name for the soi or the name of one of the businesses located there. (Like how Soi Diana Inn or Soi Post Office are named, or "soi Pothole", also known as "soi Chalermphrakiat" but is called "soi Chaiyapoom" by many.)

I take it you didn't read the other article or watch the "hidden camera" video that the reporter made in that article ?

Yodsak, Yamoto.... BJ.... and in many cases, the original establishment has long gone.

But home deliveries are allowed during Covid-19 rules, right?

Its a bit difficult to raid an establishment that you own.

Or one where you line up a dozen cars and 2 dozen officers on the soi just before the area you are going to (eventually) raid.

After a couple speeches and a number of photos (designed to give the locals plenty of time to usher everyone inside, turn off the music and lights and pretend no one is home).

I'm guessing a different officer will be stationed there every night and will see no sign of any wrong doing. I wonder if the original reporter will have the ****s to go back there in a couple days with his "hidden" camera and film the sois again (and the cop car if it's still there).

Still waiting for that woman in the red top to call me ! Don't make me go down there myself to look for you !!

Of course they didn't find anything: there is no prostitution in Thailand. We all know that !

Found nothing = remain in active post.

Found something  = go to inactive post.

Your choice ????

Prostitution?

Raid?

E.W.S!!

WHO MADE THE FAKE REPORT & TO WHO?

COPS  were so fast to go and raid the area outside the karaoke or did they go in?

Stunt job...as the Earky Warning System is working well.

maybe people should report more and make our finest police to actually move their <deleted>

I am old enough for the police to have raided Soi 6 and found no prostitution there either. Obviously reports of prostitution in Pattaya are urban legends, aka fake news. Pattaya should be renamed as the city of love.

Doesn’t look like  a family resort either.

If there are none - and never have been - any ladies of the night in Pattaya, I sure paid some expensive morning taxi rides home for some young entrepreneurs in the past

I remember many moons ago, when I was exporting garments, and Bobae and Bayoke tower were full of copy brands.

When the trademark police did a raid, the shop owners would simply lower the rollers, and sit on a chair right in front of it.

Police never found any copy brands

LOL. Of course they didn't find anything. Do they ever???

I'm thinking the reporter will be going to jail for spreading fake news and smearing the good name of Pattaya.

In Pattaya? You was robbed. Give them 40 baht and tell them to get a WIN. Give them 200 baht and they get one anyhow!

I spat my coffee out.

They found a brown enveloppe but as this was not on the target list they declared nothing.
