CNG and LPG vehicles face crackdown after tragic school bus fire
it's not a start because they are relying on the, already discredited, check and enforcement process and protocols, what is needed is root and branch reform, but that's not going to happen. in fact once the news cycle has moved on from this story absolutely nothing will change. it's all about optics. -

Any evidence of immigration - More lenient now on multiple Visa Exempts?
I think it will just get tougher tbh. The upcoming high season (the first proper one since covid), is surely going to affect things. And with all the reports of foreigners behaving badly in the media... not good. -

Hurricane Milton Reaches Category 4
The hurricane is on its final approach to Florida, and it's wobbling. Which is normal.... but a wobble to the north and Tampa will be ruined. A wobble to the south, and Sarasota may be erased from the map. Two wobbles to the south, and Trump may be homeless. They are talking about shooting looters on sight. Not a bad idea. Just hope the police don't start shooting random innocent people. They are saying this storm may keep it together and hit Europe. -

You and your Thai Wife of 20 years.
Totally agree. They don't age well. They start losing their looks, often rapidly, at around 28 to 30. With lots of makeup they might still look OK up to the age of 40. Without the face mask the cut-off is 35. There are farang women and Latinas that still look hot at 45 to 50 - Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz, Christina Hendricks come to mind. I have yet to come across a Thai woman of that age that I found really physically attractive. -

Suvarnabhumi Visa Exempt - Change of Tactic Applied
Please, accept what you like. I know what happens, as do many others. The simple way to do things, as with most officialdom in Thailand, is to visit the office you are going to use and ask what their requirements are. As with the OP. On another day, with another official, the outcome could have been very different -

Trump’s Plans Would Increase US Debt Significantly More than Harris’s, Study Finds
Absolutely right on this. Biden's tariffs are more selective and targetted while Trump's tariffs are on everything. He is now proposing a 60% tariff on goods from China and a 20% tariff on every imports. For Trump, tariffs are solution to almost any problem. His explanation on tariffs are laughable. -

Thai woman accuses renowned lawyer of stealing 1.8 million baht
A Thai woman came forward to expose a renowned lawyer who tricked her into signing a power of attorney document, stealing 1.8 million baht from her in the process. The 47 year old victim, identified only as Ple, sought help from non-profit organisation Saimai Survive to retrieve the 1.8 million baht from the well-known lawyer, whose name was not made public. In this case, Ple explained that she lent her neighbour 3.6 million baht, and the neighbour signed a contract to repay the debt within two years. However, the debtor only paid her 300,000 baht and begged her to extend the repayment period. Ple said she agreed to the debtor’s request but still did not receive her money. As a result, she hired a lawyer in September 2015 to sue her neighbour over the debt. In 2017, the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Court ordered the debtor to pay her 3.3 million baht. Ple then signed a power of attorney document allowing the lawyer to conveniently follow up on the repayment on her behalf. However, the lawyer allegedly used this power illegally for his benefit. Ple disclosed that she repeatedly asked the lawyer about her money but he told her that the debtor had not yet paid, claiming the debtor was waiting to sell valuables to repay the debt. Ple eventually sought the truth from the Legal Execution Department and discovered that the debtor already paid more than 1.8 million baht but the money went to the lawyer. Moreover, her lawyer also took a bribe of 50,000 baht from the debtor to manipulate the case in the debtor’s favour. Saimai Survive added that this was not the first accusation against the lawyer. The organisation revealed a complaint from another victim in October last year, alleging that the lawyer failed to pay home rent for over a year. The organisation has promised to help Ple seek justice and retrieve her money, but the next steps in their operation were not disclosed in the report.
