sezze
It is a fast method of checking fever , which in fact is something which says you got a infection or not . Since covid is a infection , fever can be a indicator . However , since not all people develop fever , and tablets can be taken to put the fever down , it is far from reliable test . So no , temp can be a indication but it is far from reliable .
Popular Post Caldera
I think the psychological effect shouldn't be underestimated, regardless of how reliable an indicator having a high temperature is. Someone who is feeling ill might well be further discouraged from going out if they know that they will be subjected to temperature checks wherever they go.

Ebumbu
If you have no fever, and your blood oxygen is at normal levels, it's some indication that at least you don't have raging covid.

Higher than normal body temperature is a good indicator something is wrong.! Which could be 1 of dozens of different illnesses. The more accurate way would be a COVID test.! scubascuba3
This gives you an idea of symptoms with this strain. Less smell taste issues. About 23% have fever Edited May 4, 2021 by scubascuba3
Lacessit
No, because when an instrument wielded by a Thai at variable distances says my body is 32 degrees C, I should be suffering from hypothermia.
Paradise Pete
About half of new infections are transmitted before the person has developed symptoms, so while temp checking is not useless it's also not a strong indicator of safety. Obviously asymptomatic people generally don't yet know that they're infected, which is why the rate is so high. Once symptoms begin to develop people tend to stay home. Jingthing
The best indicator is loss of smell. For example if you drink coffee smell it every day. If later you can't smell it or you smell it much less you're probably infected with Covid-19. Edited May 4, 2021 by Jingthing
