Non-mask wearing foreigner makes national news - sticks his middle finger up and refuses free mask

A foreigner who couldn't care less about the strict mask regulations now in place in Thailand has made the national Channel 7 news with his actions.

They included a video of him sticking his middle finger up when confronted by locals at the Hang Dong market in Chiang Mai about his bad attitude.

And traders told other Thai media that he had refused an offer of a mask to wear.

He is now being sought by police.

This latest news comes after a widely commented upon story about foreigners in Pattaya flouting rules there yesterday.

Comment was rife on Thaivisa with many condemning the foreigners while others wanted to see more balance in calling out Thais too for similar breaches of the rules.

In this latest case Komchadluek said that the foreigner's actions had caused widespread fear of infection in the market.

There has been a cluster in Hang Dong causing a soi to be sealed off.

It started with a Facebook post and video that said the foreigner raised his middle finger. Pulling no punches the text said that this was terrible and outrageous behavior.

Locals said that he had been seen in the area of the market many times always without a mask.

One female trader offered to give him a mask to wear.

"I don't have Covid", he responded turning down the offer.

He was reportedly denied entry to the market but continued to mill about and displaying poor behavior to officials who confronted him.

The Hang Dong police are now trying to find him. Non-mask wearers can be fined up to 20,000 baht though a first offence is usually 6,000 baht, notes Thaivisa.

The Hang Dong police are now trying to find him.

Looking at the 2nd photo they already had?????

Unless, of coarse, there had been a "misunderstanding" and let him go.

In the west we have "Perp Walks" ...here in Thailand we have "Perp Wais"....I love to see foreigners who have acted like idiots (remember the guy kicking the tiny Thai woman at the market when he thought she stole his cart ?)...then they figuratively prostrate themselves in public to avoid being kicked out...too funny and very satisfying to see.

Well thanks to this fella eh, for causing us even more grief from the locals. You really have to be seriously stupid to think you can wander about without a mask in the current environment. Yes, find him, fine him and beat some sense into him at the same time please.

Is this the same guy that murdered his wife, or a different Hang Dong criminal?

Idiots like this make life tougher for all the rest of us.

Get him lifted, held in a cell for a couple of days then put in front of the beaks for a 6000 baht fine.

If after that he still refuses to wear a mask the deport him.

YES!!!  Let's go a step further.  Hate the falang.

Fine 100,000 baht.  Deport family.  If mental issues, put in gulag.  No food for 3 weeks.  No water, 10 months!!!!

If from xxxxx country, deport all from that country!!!!!

Put him in a cell with 10,000 people who hate him!!!

all for not wearing a mask.

imagine if he slept with a prostitute, which is ILLEGAL!!!!

lol

Although his behaviour is bad, there is some understanding. If Thailand treats the foreigners as unwanted, why should the foreigner than follow the rules... I believe some people think like that, but they don't understand that these exceptions gives a bad name to ALL foreigners

You mean when you see enforcement officers approaching, you pretend to exercise and you can get away without wearing a mask, and they wave you by.....Seriously ????
