Brazilian smuggler at airport had cocaine from Ethiopia hidden in spirits - no match for AITF

Thailand's immigration bureau chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang gave details of joint operations between crime suppression, customs and the AITF or Airport Interdiction Task Force at Suvarnabhumi airport. 

 

They stopped a Mr Dutra a Brazilian travelling on a Brazilian passport from Ethiopia, reported Naew Na from the IB briefing yesterday.

 

Dutra had mixed 1,880 grams of cocaine with spirits making a sticky kind of paste that contained sediment and was thus not of the appearance of normal spirits. 

 

A test with a reagent called ONCB 052 COBALT THIOCYANATE revealed the presence of the  Class 2 prohibited substance. 

 

It was the second cocaine bust from Ethiopia that Thaivisa has reported on this week.

Peru or Colombia to Brazil, to Ethiopia, to Thailand,done some travelling,

2nd bust this week from Ethiopia ,they are going to have to find another

transit point.unless the authorities missed a lot of other mules,they might

have just been sacrificial lambs....
