geoffphuket
In all honesty, and with respect, you did do something wrong. You chose a network provider/ISP based on some set of criteria which did not include the applications which you may have really needed. Had you asked and investigated this EV-DO (I will refrain from calling it "hack") broadband SP I suspect more than a few would have floated the drawbacks, limitations and pitfalls as they have come up more than a few times here on TV. Hopefully torrents and P2P apps. were not the drivers in your choice. Unfortunately where I live on Phuket, the CDMA EV-DO or 1x wireless network is the only option open to me right now - with the exception of a satellite system, which I was told won't work properly during the next six months of rain we can expect! ....and for 590 Baht/month and an average 300-400Kbps connection, CAT Telecom's CDMA is a good deal. geoffphuket Speed test result a few minutes ago: Last Result: Download Speed: 416 kbps (52 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 37 kbps (4.6 KB/sec transfer rate) Edited May 23, 2007 by geoffphuket
