Phuket mass vaccination resumes with goal to inject 14,000 people per day

PHUKET: The mass-vaccination campaign in Phuket resumed across the island yesterday (May 18) with officials targeting to deliver jabs to 14,000 people a day during the mass-vaccination windows in order to reach the 70% population target to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19 by July 1.

Flight passengers to Phuket without documents to be refused boarding

PHUKET: Flight passengers travelling to Phuket must present documents proving that the passenger is fully vaccinated or has tested negative for COVID-19 within the previous 72 hours or they will not be allowed to board the plane.

Toilet turnstile blamed for 867 COVID-19 infections found in a week at Simummuang market

867 out of 10,480 vendors and workers at the Simummuang fruit and vegetable market in Pathum Thani province screened for COVID-19 by health officials, or 8%, tested positive for the virus, with most infections appearing to have come from touching the turnstile at the coin-operated public toilets in the market.

Vaccination registration opens for foreigners in all Phuket businesses

PHUKET: Foreigners working for any businesses in Phuket with a Phuket-registered address can now register to be vaccinated through the government mass-vaccination campaign.

Remains of 2 Thais killed in Hamas attack on Israel to be sent home

The bodies of two Thai men, killed yesterday by Hamas rockets in the southern Israeli region of Eshkol, will be sent home to Thailand, while the other eight wounded Thai workers have been hospitalized, with some already discharged, according to Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) today.

Labour Ministry pledges help for Thai workers in Israel

BANGKOK (NNT) - After two Thai nationals were reported killed in southern Israel on 18th May, casualties in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, the Ministry of Thailand has announced that family of the deceased and those injured will receive help from both the Israeli and Thai authorities.

Bang Kapi market closed for 3 days to contain the spread of COVID-19

Electricity outage to affect Rassada

PHUKET: The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has announced that the electricity supply will be temporarily shut off in parts of Rassada on Friday (May 21) as work is carried out on installing new high-voltage cables.

Two Thai people killed in Israel were on lunch break according to eyewitness

The two Thai workers, killed in an attack by Hamas while on the Ohad Agricultural Estate in Israel, were on their lunch break, according to an eyewitness. The town is about 14 kilometers away from the Gaza strip.
