·       Thailand's Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has stated that the vaccination strategy is based on ensuring accessibility to vaccines to all who require it, regardless of their nationality.     ·       The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs has urged all foreign nationals to register for a vaccine as they are “an integral part to achieve herd immunity” in Thailand. Thailand aims to vaccinate 70 percent of the population by the end of 2021, in order to achieve herd immunity.     ·       Deputy Director-General of Department of Disease Control has confirmed that two million doses of AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines were delivered to all provinces in the first week of June. Provinces with higher infection rates will receive a greater number of vaccines.     ·       The nationwide rollout of vaccines begins today (7th June). We have been informed by the Ministry Of Public Health that foreigners over the age of 60 or with the health conditions listed below can register for a vaccine via this website https://thailandintervac.com/ from 3pm o  Severe Chronic Respiratory Diseases o  Coronary Artery Disease o  Chronic Kidney Disease (5th Stage) o  Stroke o  Cancer patients receiving chemotherapy o  Diabetes o  Obesity (over 100kg or BMI greater than 35)     ·       To ease the process of the vaccine rollout, various agencies to be in charge of the vaccination of foreign nationals:     o  Spouses of Thai citizens, retirees, investors and all other foreign nationals are advised to contact the hospital holding their health records or make an on-site registration at designated vaccination venues o  Vaccines for foreign students will be co-ordinated by the Ministry Of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation o  Vaccines for diplomats, members of internationals organisations and foreign media will be co-ordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs     ·       The vaccination rollout may vary between provinces, as the Provincial Office will manage the distribution of vaccines.       ·       The CCSA confirmed on 9th May 2021 that foreigners in Thailand should not contact their Embassy to register for a vaccine. Instead, they should register via the appropriate Ministry of Public Health channels.     ·       The only vaccines that have been approved and procured for use in Thailand are AstraZeneca, Sinovac and Sinopharm. You may not be able to choose which you receive. You should contact the hospital or vaccination centre for more information.     ·       The World Health Organisation (WHO) has now approved Sinovac for use. The WHO states Sinovac “meets international standards for safety, efficacy and manufacturing”.

Registration For Vaccines

All Provinces   The nationwide rollout of vaccines begins today (7th June). You can register for a vaccine at any hospital which holds your health records or designated vaccination centre. You will need your Thai social security number or original passport.     Bangkok   You can register for a vaccine at any hospital which holds your health records.     Phuket   Foreign nationals in Phuket who are in possession of a work permit have been eligible to register for a vaccine since Tuesday 11th May. Your employer will need to register you via the Phuket Must Win website.      For more information about vaccinations in Phuket, you can telephone the Phuket Provincial Health Office hotline on 0945938876 and 0622435116 or via Line @phuketwin     Chiang Mai   Registration for vaccinations for foreign nationals residing in Chiang Mai opened on 28th May. Samui is little different, as being one of the early sandbox models together with Phuket. The goal is to vaccinate 70 percent of everybody on the island before end of July.

 

All foreigners on Samui can register using the QR code and the app for the purpose - details in earlier posts above - it actually works fine (so far)...????

I don't think so, foreigners register through Samui Immigration, as the checks if you live on the island. We should all have been vaccinated between June 1st and June 8th, but due to some had taken the boat from the mainland and registered for vaccination on the island, everything was cancelled, and a new app for registration through the immigration office was established. But you can anyway try if you can register using the app via the QR-code in above posts.

According to the news articles, you don't have a choice other than accept what is offered. At the moment only Sinovac and AZ vaccines are available. If you wish to choose another, then Moderne will be an option in private hospitals from October.

Just like prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha that stated on national TV this evening that Thailand will fully open in October, he also didn't mention a year...????
