Thailand's CP Foods closes poultry factory after coronavirus found among workers

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's largest agribusiness firm Charoen Pokphand Foods Pcl said on Sunday it had closed one of its factories for five days after several workers tested positive for COVID-19.

UPDATE:

 

391 poultry plant workers in Saraburi infected with COVID-19

An additional 146 workers at a chicken processing plant, belonging to CPF Company in Thailand’s central province of Saraburi, have been found infected with COVID-19 today (Sunday), bringing the total so far to 391, according to Saraburi provincial authorities.

PHUKET: All pubs, bars and other similar entertainment venues in Phuket are to remain closed and the ban on restaurants serving alcohol or allowing alcohol to be consumed on the premises is to remain in effect despite a new provincial order relaxing some of the COVID-prevention measures in force being issued last night.

Rules for entering Phuket by road, boat extended

PHUKET: All domestic arrivals entering Phuket by road or boat, except children under 5 years old, must be fully vaccinated or tested negative for COVID-19 within seven days of arriving on the island in order to be permitted to enter Phuket without serving any mandatory quarantine, a new order issued by the Phuket Governor has confirmed.

Health authorities to prioritize COVID-19 vaccination drive in Bangkok

BANGKOK – Some of President Joe Biden’s and his predecessor Donald Trump’s most active boosters in Southeast Asia have joined forces, demanding the US State Department vaccinate all American expats in Thailand as a model for international distribution, instead of discriminating against them.
