The Thai prison system has previously existing massive health issues in terms of serious communicable diseases such as hepatitis and tb as examples.

You make it sound as if these Diseases have been eradicated within the Prison System.

They have not, and are probably more rampant now than they have ever been.

Because of this,  is my fear  that the Death toll from Covid in the Prisons will be very high, specially for those with TB. But we shall probably never know the true extent of either the Infection Rate or Deaths.

What happened to the plan (reported some time back) to release 50k or so "Minor crime" inmates from prison ?

And Royal Pardons ?

Never heard any more on these??

A Thai friend's daughter sentenced to over 2yrs jail for being "implicated" in her defacto husband's selling used motorcycle parts (he got 7yrs).

She has a 10yo son (left with inlaws) and had a full time paid job at the time of the alleged crime !

What a legal system !
