The chief of the vaccination center at Bangkok's brand new Bang Sue Grand Central  has described the station as a hospital.

Vaccine lots are delivered at night, scanned and checked, then nurses and doctors arrive in the morning for long shifts that can last 13 hours.

So far Dr Mingkhwan Wichaidith said that capacity was at 10,000 to 15,000 people a day and IF there was enough vaccine the 80 channels could get 1.5 million jabs done over the next two months.

But Dr Mingkhwan wants capacity to be upped to 100 channels and 20,000 people per day by next Monday. To effect this not just doctors, nurses and dentists should be able to administer jabs.

Others with expertise such as health volunteers would be needed.

Next week the second doses of people who have received one jab of Sinovac are due after a three week waiting period. This means more capacity is required.

Right now as many as 150,000 people in the transport industry are being jabbed at 5,000 per day.

Before the start of term - that is mid June according to most reports - the plan is to vaccinate 40,000 teachers and other school staff. Also 30,000 people in the massage and spa industry are due to be vaccinated.

Pressure is mounting, reported Daily News amid considerable concern that there will not be enough vaccine to go round.

And while capacity at the station needs to be increased the authorities have to make sure that matters like social distancing and other Covid-19 protocols are not compromised.

They should have enlisted the BBQ chicken sellers as well .. if you can skewer chicken then stabbing some with a needle should be no problem ..

Perhaps that's why they're keen to vaccinate the massage and spa girls? They can help with the injections, as they're used to handling multiple pr*cks in a day.

I would be more concerned about vaccine supplies running out than the

Thai's ability to get something like this done.

I have heard from folks today from 3 different provinces that have said they are doing it & the organization after 2 hours of "getting it together " has been excellent.

I would love Thai Visa to report daily "how many jabs" on a daily basis (until they run out)

Is there any phone number or other contact method that really works to find out what is going before just going up there cold to check out the situation? My attempt to get the vaccination at a hospital on June 7 failed. Thanks.
