WE cannot point out that a large number of infections are among high density urban populations of BAME people who either did not get inoculated or are not observing social distancing and mask wearing etc.

I think quite a lot of Pheu Thais clientele will not appreciate this statement, given how many people from Isaan work in the tourism industry.   Anyway, everyone should see that the main pro

Stating the blindingly obvious makes you a racist these days in the UK......

In the UK the problem is returning ethnic Indians were allowed to enter untested in April - then spread the delta variant in their communities. Opening schools allowed  the infection to spread from household to household, as people below 18 have not been vaccinated.

As for seasonality, yes, it has a big impact. Summer now in Northern Hemisphere is helping reduce infections. How much is climate and how much is vaccination, hard to tell but both are important. In the Southern hemisphere, temperate countries have nearly all seen a rise in infections in their autumn, even those countries with reasonable vaccination rates. Autumn in the Northern hemisphere will see yet another wave, only moderated by high vaccination rates.

Thailand might reopen to tourists in 120 days, but it would take a phenomenal effort to actually fully vaccinate the majority of the population by then.

If Thailand does open, numbers of tourists will be limited by many factors-

1.      Any remaining Covid-19 requirements for entry to Thailand.

2.     Any remaining Covid-19 requirements on their return to home countries

3.     The perceived likelihood of change in requirements at short notice

4.      How much of the Thai tourist industry is actually ready

5.      Total holiday costs.

6.       Current Covid-19 rates in Thailand.

All these would probably negatively impact numbers
