Blue Muton
Seen it in Lazada and Shopee and wondered how it stacks up against Fray Bentos etc? It looks a bit "different" from the image on the can.

I was home on leave in 1964 and got a couple of weeks extension because my mother had been to Aberdeen. The outbreak was eventually traced to contaminated tinned corned beef from Rosario, Argentina and sold in the city's branch of the Scottish grocery chain William Low. Pollution from the waters of the Uruguay River (which flows into the Río de la Plata) appeared to be the source of the contamination, probably through water entering a defective tin through a small puncture. The infected meat then contaminated a meat slicing machine within the William Low shop, leading to the spread of the disease. The bacteria multiplied further in the meats as they were placed near a window and exposed to sunlight. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1964_Aberdeen_typhoid_outbreak 1

Claims to be all EU-sourced meat. M&S do (or did - it's 2 years since I was in one) their own-label version too - quite nice though not specially tasty.

Not a fan of American style wafer thin cuts. I haven't found any deli's around these parts, either. There's nothing wrong with good canned corned beef in a nice spicy hash, if calling it dog food makes you feel good then fine, if it was a feeble attempt at self-aggrandisement, I think Shania Twain has the answer. 2 1
ThailandRyan
Delimondo can be bought for around 295 baht a can through Lazada, I also have found it on the shelves at Villa and Gourmet foods here in Bangkok However, you can buy fresh made corned beef from a place here in Bangkok from Mama Jeans for 300 baht for 400 grams (with free delivery)

That Dewhurst Corned Beef with finely sliced or diced onion or Branston , in a sandwich or baguette (if you can get one) is really good. Its not just the product, its the nostalgia too, comfort food I call it.Great with potatoe and onion in pasties too ! I worked for Dewhurst as a kid my first Saturday job, butchers boy !
