Well if the crime was not committed in Thailand it does not count i believe.

I am led to believe that if one has the right connections and influence crimes committed in Thailand can be discounted and left alone….rumour and absolute tosh I’m sure.

Clarification and removal of image that somehow attached itself to my post. An image I have never downloaded I might add.

According to Ms. Thanasiri Duangkwan, 36, and Ms. Pornthip Sophonthawinpong, 38, both housekeepers at the luxury home, the suspect had fired several gunshots into the air, alarming both neighbors and residents and staff of the home.

People setting off fire-crackers or firing guns in the air.
Normal occurrence out in the villages.  Nobody blinks.  Around "luxury" houses.  Call out the national guard, the entire police force, and army reserve.  Goodbye farang.

will no longer have to worry about the damage to his luxury vehicle, in fact one hopes the housekeepers know where the keys are. They can save on transport while travelling to another job.

50 police and special forces responded?  Even if this guy gets no prison time, I bet he will be sent a very large expense bill for this.  Deportation and banning and other things may be the least of his worries if he can't pay up

It's an absurd waste of police resources. All the police in the region went there. With nothing better to do they need to justify their pay checks.

3/1  - The next McAfee with holdings in crypto and similar mental stability

10/1 - Pharmaceutical professional on the import/export side

25/1 - One of those lovely foreigners with tourist police, definitely not on power trip and would never ask if you know who I know

5000/1 - Normal guy, misunderstanding, misrepresented, licensed fire arm

1/4 Fav - involved in illicit drugs.

Also. probably lucky not to be shot dead, by the sounds of it.

Obviously a well off Brit living in a luxury home

Appointing a big name lawyer pay a big fine comes to mind plus a donation to the police fund

Should in fact be jailed and deported for any incident involving fire arms

But was it a luxury firearm?

Any farang on a visa with an illegal firearm - or no need of one - should be immediately deported. No Ifs no buts.

Whilst I can understand my wife having a gun out in the wilds of hilly Nan, keeping one and needing one in a Pattaya housing estate is ridiculous.

Just a wanna be gangster - deport him

44 yrs old   ?    must be on special business category visa   ?

in the meantime the Common Expats , retired & living on Pension is facing hurdles that make life more difficult  ..... more expensive .....  etc. etc.

Soon -- after Covid 19  pLandemic is over , you'll see tons of people from  Mainland China & Indian Subcontinent coming in bringing sacks of clean cash

to invest in this land bringing their own version of crime .....

God save Thai people  .....

Its far easier to stay in Thailand if your over 50. Just money in the bank and your done. At his age either an elite visa or some business visa. Both more expensive then a retirement visa so stop moaning about how hard you have it while in reality retirement visas are the easy.

This guy is an absolute tool just like every other guy who needs weapons. So not defending this guy just stopping your misinformation.

Very true, this guy might well have been set for life in Thailand.........until he started waving a gun around.

"British national arrested after allegedly firing a gun several times into the air and multiple hour standoff with Pattaya Police at a luxury Pattaya home"

Why not "Foreign national arrested after allegedly firing a gun several times into the air and multiple hour standoff with Pattaya Police at a luxury Pattaya home"

Other suspects' nationalities seem to very often get ignored by the Thai media, but they seem to love pointing out that the offfenders/suspects are British whenever they can! Probably not helped by the Health Minister calling us "dirty unwashed farangs" a while ago!

Actually in most reports they have a nationality. I take it your a Brit. Just because that guy is an idiot does not mean all Brits are idiots.

I could not care less if a  Dutch guy was arrested and named.. we are all individuals and we all got thugs and other not so nice people in our own country. They travel too.

Its not as if your responsible for what Brits do nor do i feel any responsibility towards Dutch criminals.

I can think of other countries equally as qualified to have that accolade - Russia and Nigeria to name but two.

(P.S. You didn't finish  your post, but I presume you meant ".......types to other countries"?)

Amazing how many foreigners seem to live in high end places with security etc yet feel the need to have a gun !

Either very scared or want to keep people away for some reason ????

Also amazing how many Thai people seem to have a gun, hence the forigners from"high end places with security etc" feeling the need to "level the playing field"?
