The island of Phuket in southern Thailand has tightened its entry regulations for tourists visiting from all other 76 Thai provinces.

The new rules that will come into force on Tuesday were announced by deputy governor Piyapong Chuwong at a press conference with Vachira Hospital officials yesterday, reported Daily News.

To enter Phuket on a vaccinated already deal you will have to have had two doses of Sinovac or Sinopharm or one jab of mRNA1 vaccine such as Astra Zeneca, Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, or Moderna within no less than 14 days.

People are also allowed entry who have recovered from Covid-19 after 90 days or who have had a negative antigen test in the last seven days.

Six year olds and lower are exempt, under 18s must have a negative antigen test.

The move comes as Phuket continues its "sandbox" reopening to foreign tourists who must fly in. And as many places in the rest of Thailand enter lockdown and curfew due to record numbers of infections.

Neither the AstraZeneca or Johnson and Johnson are mRNA1 type vaccines.   Might be useful to have people who know what they are talking about at these press conferences.

You can not possibly make a more confusing announcement (considering previous news), and/or reporting of an official announcement (if that's the problem) if you really tried hard, clear as mud....!!! ?

And perhaps someone should mention to the reporters that AZ and J&J are not MRNA vaccines.

They'd have to think too mut...would give them a headache.

Astra Zeneca and Johnson and Johnson are not mRNA vaccines.

He probably meant "must have two doses of Sinovac or Sinopharm or one jab of any good non-Chinese vaccine"  ????

Another confusing article that seems to indicate a negative antigen test is sufficient, regardless of vaccination status.

Other sources say it's vaccinated AND a negative test.  In either case, a 7 day old test is pretty inadequate, unless they're testing them again on arrival before they can go out in public.  Which doesn't seem to be in the cards.

Agree, the translation is bad. The information in Thai is much better, where it says vaccinated plus test.

Believe its just a car of all provinces being brought in line to save confusion as the deep red visitors, e. g. Test and vaccine
