It's a shame girls don't give more thought to what they wear, not unusual for a thai bird to go take a shower come out in a towel and I get them to go back and put their clothes back on, they usually look puzzled

Popular Post DefaultName
Everything is closed, but still there. Yes, a lot of businesses are gone forever, some faces will not be seen again. Some will be missed, some not. But the buildings are still there, a good clean, maybe a lick of paint, some new chairs and they can open. a couple of days to do that, dunno how long the licences take though. Staff are easy, once the word hits the "source" that the tourists are back, the buses will be full of girls who need money and don't want to do 12 hour shifts in a factory to get it. Walking Street, for me, good riddance. But. It's a huge attraction, either to "indulge", or as a zoo for the looky-looky's. Either way, it brings money in. Casino's. IMO a mistake, for some reason Thais don't seem to be able to control their gambling. I'm a bit the same, so I just won't go in one. The opposition came from the very top but the new man there doesn't have the same opinions as the last, so I think this will happen. Pattaya is simply too big a money maker for Thailand to leave closed. All this of course can't happen without a vaccinated population, all the countries that are coming out of this pandemic have vaccinated big time, there doesn't seem to be any other way out of this. Or I could be wrong, time will tell. ????

I am for vaccination as long as the vaccines are safe enough that is, but even without vaccination the virus will go it's way and keep mutating till it's no longer dangerous. We only have to look at history to see this effect, the spanish flu is a good example as we didn't have anything to fight it and it disappeard after about 2.5 years. As the Spanish flu from 1918 was a corona virus as well, i think we have a good chance of the same timeframe being true for this one. 4 1
Skallywag
4th time Beach has been closed now. (as told in Pattaya News yesterday) Why all these new forum threads about Pattaya "hurting" or "closed" Nothing "new" to report, it is lockdown #4 and sw already got through the first 3. Why is this one different? Just be glad they have not banned alcohol sales as they did May 2020. So in reality this lockdown is still better than May 2020 ! And the Mayor of Pattaya still hopeful for a September 1, 2021 opening! WooHoo Peace 1 1

Keeping tourists inside is not so difficult and really not needed when the tourists pose less of a risk than the local population. Yes, but how do you keep Thais outside? Once you open Pattaya to tourists many Thai workers and bargirls will go to Pattaya to make some money and some of them will be infected. Maintaining control in Pattaya limits is impossible, because it's not an island like Phuket.

Thailand banned or severely limited foreign travelers so of course by default the officials disliked Foreigners. And that one health official literally publicly spoke against the dirty farangs that he alleges were the cause or were bringing in the virus. Now run along. Nothing you say or write will change the direction Thailand is going in. The Whole World banned foreign travel or highly restricted foreign travel , this is to stop the virus from spreading, rather than any Countries dislike of foreigners . Thai officials do not dislike foreigners , they dislike Covid
Jumbo1968
Judging by the new developments on what was basically a car park on 3rd Road, the new nightclub on Soi Buakhao, the Tree Town Development, Witherspoons 2 new bars and other bars being renovated some business people must think there will be an influx of tourists once Covid is sorted ? In my years in Pattaya it was on the way out before Covid, empty bars, the girls sitting uninterested playing on their phones, the high baht, I believe it will take years to recover if it other does.

Most of everything that has done will be shown to be a lesson in futility. All that most shutdowns and curfews did or will likely do is delay the inevitable. Even flu vaccines are barely 40% effective because they have to guess what strain(s) to try and combat prior to mass manufacturing the vaccines. Things change. COVID will be no different and is naturally mutating. 3

Here are some numbers for you.... I make 100,000 baht a day picking up plastic bottles from the street and it only takes 10 minutes.... I can make 1,000,000 baht a week if I work 15 minutes a day... Point being..... Its very very very easy to publish bogus numbers.... It has been rated the number one male entertainment place in the world by many publications over the years. There are millions of males all over the world who have come here and will continue to come in the future their desire for female company is not going to suddenly stop. It looks bad now but places like Soi 6 can get going again in about a week. I bet it does not take long to pull up a metal door, stock a place with booze and get girls back here. Many of the other places are still open even today in and around Soi Buakhao, Soi honey, etc. and others could be fully opened quickly. Same LK Metro. Walking Street I have no idea I have not gone for years I think a tourist trap but many love it and it is pretty much a must see for visitors here. Pattaya will come back sooner then some think unless all these vaccines are full of salt peter and it permanently kills the sex drives of men all around the world. Let's hope not. Popular Post peterrabbit
Thai household debt is at 90+% of GDP. The pawnbrokers (grass route indicators) say that the general populace has pawned everything they have and that this is even worst than the 1997 Asian financial crisis. No one is buying from their shops. The small and medium sized businesses. that took decades to create and flourish, have been destroyed. Most of the owners have no capital or cash left to finance their reopening. Without some form of "Marshall Plan" to kick start small businesses then it will take years for them to come back. Does anyone see this Government initiating such a plan? Thailand is the most unequal country in the world for the distribution of wealth, with a small number owning 90% of the Country's wealth. With millions of people who had money, property, security, status, now being reduced to paupers, there will be a groundswell of resentment and hatred against the Authorities, mainly due to their indifference to the common people. Most of these disadvantaged people were motivated to do something with their lives and not just village "wasters", they are doers not just talkers. Now they have nothing left to loose, and desperate, motivated people without anything to loose are a very dangerous prospect for the status quo. I don't believe Thailand will simply go back to same, same after this experience. I believe it will become a tinderbox and a revolution for change. I believe that the vast majority of the populace will no long accept the rule of the Bangkok Elite, either directly or indirectly through their proxies. As with so many Countries and their leaders in this crisis, the current leadership is now moribund. It's how things develop from now on that decides what changes will happen in Thailand. The only thing that is certain is that there will be a new Thailand reborn from these ashes, but no-one can say how, when, how painful a birth it will be, or if it will be a better Country or not. 6
