BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Public Health Ministry is cooperating with the National Health Security Office (NHSO) and related agencies to help COVID-19 patients to return to their home provinces without risk of spreading the virus.

Public Health Ministry deputy permanent secretary Thongchai Keeratihattayakorn said those with mild symptoms, who want to be treated in their hometowns, can request free, isolated seats on transport services. They must first contact the NHSO’s hotline 1330, or download its QR Code, to reserve their seat and most people are able to travel within three days of registering.

He said the government supports those who wish to make the trip, but they must ensure they do so safely and without infecting others. It is also a way of alleviating pressure on demand for Bangkok hospital beds. 31,175 infected people have left the capital during the lockdown.

Meanwhile, NHSO deputy secretary-general Attaporn Limpanyalert said home and community isolations are another way to enable COVID-19 patients to return to their home provinces, adding that patients have to register with the NHSO, so they can be medically monitored and treated during home isolation.

Stood to one side while men in Hazmat suits wheel a covid patient into the  lift up to the 2 nd floor

Then watched as they wheeled the same patient through the normal ward into the isolation section !!

And they want to prevent the spread of covid  ??????

Reduce the incident in Bangkok by shipping it to the Provinces.  Unbelievable!  Is there any limit to the stupidity of this government?

It allows them to say, no more walk in clinics needed, we fixed the issue by shipping it all across the country.

I wonder how long the virus lasts on hazmat suits, how well it moves from those suits to those in vaccinated people in close proximity.
