Popular Post webfact
Image: Daily News A Government Gazette announcement effective immediately forbids news outlets and internet users from spreading fake, damaging or scaremongering news likely to cause instability or trouble among the public. Daily News said that media outlets were being asked to behave responsibly and not distort the facts resulting in damage to state and public security. The order prohibits anyone from “reporting or disseminating information that may frighten people or that internationally causes misunderstanding about the emergency situation”. The order also gives the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) the authority to obtain IP addresses from internet service providers in a bid to determine where the offending content originated from. The information can then be passed onto the police for investigation. While Thailand already has strict laws which govern the sharing of content online, the new order accelerates the process having offending content removed, internet access blocked for those who post such content before possiblle legal action is taken. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-07-30 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1 1 5 1

Popular Post Gsxrnz
"Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past." Orwell, 1984 But in reality, all governments consider themselves the arbiters of truth anyway. A politician's bread and butter is the ability to distort the truth to such an extent that the uninformed and ideological nutbags willingly swallow the lies. The real problem is the bubble of cognitive dissonance that surrounds much of society. Let's not discuss the record increased production but apparent rarity of razor blades. 10

Popular Post JonnyF
No surprise. The government clearly wants exclusive rights on spreading "their" truth and wants people to dismiss other sources. It is happening everywhere, even "progressive liberals" like Jacinda Ardern, the woke lefty darling of NZ was recently quoted as saying... "take all non-government information with a grain of salt. Dismiss anything else, we will continue to be your single source of truth,” Scary stuff indeed. https://www.theaustralian.com.au/commentary/suppression-plans-straight-from-ccp-play-book/news-story/71242afe71048b13dd88fe3f4c2fafd9 18

Spot on!! sensational reporting for a reaction to keep up the numbers!! Much easier to run a thread with photos of the provocative immoral short skirts and tight blouses uniforms of students at university...... a guarantee of a huge response of outrage by us readers after extensive viewing and confirmation. 1

Popular Post spidermike007
Oppression, when used to mask institutional failure is a pathetic thing to witness. Kind of reminds me a bit of Cuba, or North Korea. Both failed states. Very weak, Prayuth. You are a failed man, leading a nearly failed state. We know you well enough by now. And we know what this ban means. It means all criticism of your failures will be prohibited and enforced by your corrupt and pathetic police. You are a weak man, who is showing his panic, and it only makes your weakness and extreme failures more apparent. And despite the potential dangers, hopefully few of us will take these threats to heart and submit to your CCP type tactics. Based on the number of cases, the lack of a lockdown around Samut, that infamous day back in December, the issues at the borders with migrant crossings and YOUR super corrupt border officials, the incredibly feeble vaccination drives taking place thus far, the bizarre bans on some businesses but not others, (transparent cronyism and massive corruption) the curfews, and the incoherent plan in terms of travel to a from highly infected areas, and the highly selective enforcement of closures, it seems safe to say that the credit the government was given during the first wave was misplaced, and undeserved, that it was more or less "dumb luck", and that we are not in particularly safe hands at the moment.
