Fiance Visa Do's & Don'ts Question

Featured Replies

Hi

Just got the 6 month Fiance Visa for myself and my TGF for the UK. Now I Know that this is classed as a settlement visa, can anyone though point me in the right direction where I can find what is and isnt allowed under this visa? I know they cannot work, but things like can they have a bank account, can they register for a doctor etc. Any help most grateful, cant seem to find it under the embassies pages

Cheers

Your fiancée can register with a doctor and can open a bank account, although as she has no credit history she may not be able to open one in her own name. Instead, it may be a question of adding her to yours until such a time as the bank will allow her one of her own. She can study, but may have to pay for any courses she undertakes.

She can't work until you are married and she has the extension from the BIA, and she's not allowed to claim public funds.

Scouse.
