Mr. Jacques Etievant aged 60 a Frenchman informed the Dongtan Police at 7 pm on 25th May that his house located in Grand Condo Village had been robbed and his safe was stolen and requested the police to investigate.

At the scene the officers found a single one storey house. In the front of the house there were signs of a disturbance and found where the thief entered through the door by cutting the netting.

Items in the safe included 47,000 Baht, a mobile phone, credit and ATM cards, two bank books, two passports, and a spare motorbike key.

The victim said that he went out to walk his dog and came back to find a mess in the house and the safe missing.

Free-standing safe? Usually very heavy.

Built-in safe? Usually with anchors.

I have known of safes being hauled away for opening later, but with a man just out walking his dog? Seems strange.

And he was breaking the law - 'coz he didn't have his pasport with him (unles of course he has a third one).
