PHUKET: A 58-year-old Danish man who arrived in Phuket under the Phuket Sandbox scheme was found safe last night (Aug 7) after he became lost while trekking through the jungle near the hotel where he is staying on Phuket’s northern west coast.

PHUKET: Teerawat Thothip, a 27-year-old resident of Pa Khlok in Phuket has confessed to choking Swiss tourist Nicole Sauvain-Weiskopf with a headlock, but has denied intention to kill her and denied any attempt to rape her.

Suspect charged with murder and robbery in death of Swiss tourist on Phuket

The suspect, being held in police custody in connection with the death of a Swiss tourist, told the Thai media today (Sunday) that he only intended to steal her money and only assaulted her when she resisted.

1bn baht revenue generated from Phuket Sandbox

PHUKET (NNT) - Thailand’s pilot tourism reopening campaign Phuket Sandbox has already generated around 1 billion baht in cashflow since it opened last month. The island has so far welcomed around 17,000 international arrivals, while a total of 335,000 hotel night stays have been booked for the period July-September.

Anutin defends amnesty bill, says necessary to protect doctors

Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul came out on Monday to defend proposed legislation that would grant amnesty to doctors and policy makers in charge of the country’s vaccination plan by saying it was necessary to give doctors ease-of-mind as they deal with the pandemic.
