The government is planning to pass legislation that would absolve key decision-makers of any wrongdoing in the failure to procure vaccines for the country, according to the opposition Move Forward Party

The government’s languid vaccination program has been criticized by the public and politicians alike for contributing to a mounting death toll and an uncontrolled third wave of the pandemic.

The government failed the move speedily to secure vaccines and rejected Pfizer and other effective vaccines as far back as November instead relying on the ineffective Sinovacs Vaccine and the much-delayed locally-produced AstraZeneca jabs.

And it starts. Wasn't an amnesty bill the topic which submarined Yinglucks tenure.  Pun intended by the way.

The world capital of responsibility.

Responisibility - Madness 0 - 12 (Considering Madness play away, that´s really bad)

If true, these boys have certainly learnt from the Thaksin and Yingluck eras.

I can see this becoming something most, if not all future governing political parties here will do to cover their backsides.

Disgraceful. Absolutely no accountability. But then what do you expect from this mob? They have a history of rewriting laws to absolve them of their crimes, same as they did when they stole power from the democratically elected government in 2014.

So they are behind on work with almost everything and their concern now is to write an amnesty bill. Jesus, this really is the end, must feel pathetic to be one of those foreigners doing the governments job and handing out food endlessly, they better ramp up on donating people as this will go on years.

An absolute farce !

Having buttered their toast after the coup by making themselves ' immune ' to prosecution , they now want jam on top to absolve themselves from making a pigs ear of the vaccine roll out.

Pretty typical of their usual behaviour.

  • Popular Post

And yet in the USA the current law absolves all vaccine manufacturers of any and all liability, even though the vaccines are only approved for emergency use and not the normal full release.

And what law would protect them if another coup occurs that throws out the constitution, suspends all laws, courts etc?

Not really true I don't think.  But they may face the next military coup, and whoever leads that, if and when that occurs.  The Thai people have had very little votes in any of the coups that I can remember.  The military just moved in

Not sure I understand - it Thaksin had passed such a law surely he would not be "guilty" now. I think you are getting confused with the Junta after the coup.

Thai government NOT the hub of taking responsibility, only cowards and despots hide behind bad laws, the Thai people mostly deserve so much better.

You are suggesting it would be an open and democratic election like the last one, which took ages to come to the previously agreed outcome?

LOL! Anutin is one lucky man!

This is just a little sweeping and tidying up before there is a big change at the top.

Deny your leaving   check

opposition leader, deny your running   check

their will not be a coup     check

pass some immunity laws   check

prepare a statement saying its for the good of the country that you love so much, and after many years of heavy lifting its time to pass the torch.................. in progress

  • Popular Post

Will say it again, both on their way out and trying to cover their tracks.

writing the law and having it published in royal gazette is not one of the same .

just like prayuts gag law was overturned by courts, this amnesty law may also get the same treatment

The mere mention of a pardon/amnesty for Thaksin sent the country into tailspin, from which it has never recovered.

Good on Move Forward for preemptively nailing this one in the public square.

Huh. The junta, now the regime, already granted themselves full absolute immunity from prosecution for anything they did to "de-establish" the previous government.

The name of the Powerpoint (leaked document) file is startling. Definitely not a good look. Somebody's going to be in trouble for that.

Ok, let them do it....

...along with an amnesty for Penguin and the protesters, and why not Thaksin, Yingluck and Thannatorn while they're at it!

  • Popular Post

prayut, and mark vejjajiva, learned from the 2010 crack-down, which did result in some sham court/legal reviews, that it is best to secure immunity BEFORE breaking the law, or at least before being charged.

And past pms, a few, have had to flee the country to avoid legal problems after having ruled atrociously. A few come crawling back (after statute of limitations expires), at least one died in exile. Shameful lot, same-same today.

Hitler's mob could have done with having these clowns behind them.

  • Popular Post

Now lemme get this straight.............

You wanna pass a law that states you didn't do anything wrong when you didn't do anything right...is that about it?

If so then please....

put de lime in de coconut, you drink 'em bot' togedder
Put de lime in de coconut, then you feel better
Put de lime in de coconut, drink 'em bot' up
Put de lime in de coconut and call me in the morning

Perhaps he following Trump's idea of pardoning himself for any crimes before he leaves office (which didn't happen I think)?

  • Popular Post

Surely this in itself is an admission of guilt and culpability ?

  • Popular Post

Seems quite reasonable - after all anyone can make the odd mistake.
