May 28, 200718 yr I read somewhere in this section that it is possible to plug a wireless box into the back of an UBC receiver or DVD etc. and be able to pick up a signal on other televisions around the house. (I have searched to find the original reference to this, but been unable to do so.) Please can somebody fill me in here. What is required and how does one set it up? Any info or help here will be much appreciated...
May 28, 200718 yr Thats the long and the short of it.. Google wireless video extender. Theres other types now that operate over netwrok cables or wireless networking.
May 28, 200718 yr get three "Y" adapters (or a splitter box) and plug these into the back of your UBC decoder. Plug one cable set to your TV. Go to pantip, and look for 2.4ghz transmitter/receiver sets -they are not that expensive, most come with one receiver and a little camera, avoid these. I can post a picture of the units i have once i get home.

May 28, 200718 yr Dont know about other types of UBC boxes.. But my UBC box has an S-vid output a component output and an UHF output.. One goers to the LCD TV.. The S-vid is piped into a HTPC and out to a projector.. and the UHF piped into the house system for bedroom TV's etc.. All from one box (3 outputs) without any splitters..
May 28, 200718 yr Presumably the problem with these video extenders is that you you would have to go back to the original UBC box if you wanted to change channels on UBC?
May 28, 200718 yr Most good extenders have a return path. You can take the remote to the other room and still operate the UBC/True box from there! Chris
May 28, 200718 yr Presumably the problem with these video extenders is that you you would have to go back to the original UBC box if you wanted to change channels on UBC? My wired solution to this was an IR transmitter. 2 peice kit,one transmitter and one receiver box I've got the UBC box downstairs with composite going into the living room TV. out of the RF is a little attachment that that is bwtween the box and the cable going up stairs. Out of this attachment is a IR transmitter on a lead that sits infront of the UBC box. Coax cable goes up stairs to a transmitter box and then out of the box to the TV. (the transmitter box need a power source and is plugged into the wall) So I got an extra UBC remote, and can switch the channels up stairs or down. Both TV's are on the same channel but that's ok because I'm normally only in one place or the other at a time. Beets the cost of 2 UBC boxes.
