Do you disagree?

I do not know, lockdowns may be the reason for reducing infections.... vaccinations don't really do that, and Sinovac has been reported as the least effective.

Less cases... but weekend effect. Besides that they have still the prisons to lower the cases in general public and now they put the rapid test with it. Easier to manipulate the numbers now, because in October the country has to open so more people are recovering than thatthere are new infections. The Government want to show how effective the vaccinations are, the lock down and how wonderful they handle the crisis... but the real reality?????

9 deaths in Laos with minimal/no lockdown!

They take it pretty serious in Laos too.

The Lao government has decided to extend the current nationwide lockdown to Aug. 18

Until 18 August 2021, flights to Lao People’s Dem. Rep. are suspended.

Lockdowns have been in place there for over 6 weeks.

Samut Sakhon governor Weerasak Wijitsaengsri says he plans to resign due to health reasons. He said his body never really recovered from the time when he had Covid-19. He is tired easily, coughing & sneezing, and finds it difficult to breathe.

Government support for top officials who try hard is as lacking as it is for the praise it shows to its frontline heath workers.

"He said he had asked for a transfer owing to health issues, but his request was denied due to “internal politics”.

“My dream of working for the government until retirement has come to an end because I have been working too hard. My seniors who had promised to help don’t seem to be doing anything. After my name was not included in the transfer orders, my doctor suggested I resign,” he said.

Veerasak said he decided nearly a week ago that he would hand in his resignation on Monday. “I cannot fight anymore. I’m done. It’s over,” the governor said."

Protesters, Police Clash in Thailand Vaccine Protests

Hospitals are rapidly filling up. Supplies of life-saving Favipiravir medicine and oxygen, among other things, are running low and becoming prohibitively expensive. Unemployment is rising as the lockdown takes hold, and more businesses are closing for good. Government remedies for the devastating economic impacts of the pandemic have proven inadequate.

I have lost the plot on how many new cases of covid there are.

I just know it is "going viral" out there

I have my own regime - shopping at Tesco/Lotus at 08-00, and get my sons milk every 4 days from 7/11 (and my wife tea from Amazon) - otherwise we avoid going out

Might sound severe but I am not young and I have a long term health problems which lowers my immune system - with no vaccine on the horizon - I have to do what I can to protect my family and myself.

Sad times in Thailand

Your Tesco Lotus  & 7/11 shopping shedule is same as mine ???? except the milk is for my use ????

Director of Air Force Medical Services insists “no VIPs” have received Pfizer vaccine, apologizes to frontline HWCs. Next week all will get Pfizer booster shot, he promises. (The hospital under his directorate is in a spotlight for glaring irregularities in Pfizer distribution.)

I am positive it's all above board. "He then yelled at his 2nd in command, refill those Pfizer bottles with Sinovac, no one will be the wiser"

Agreed…Vietnam don’t have any reason to lie…they are not reliant on tourism and they are firmly entrenched with broad public support.

Thailand on the other hand…

Thailand not lie! They just dont test all sick people! Easy low numbers!

The ongoing outbreak is affecting our lives in various ways and going to grocery shopping is no exception. Gone are days when we stopped at a supermarket to pick up a few things on the way home from work. Equally, there’s no more dropping by the fresh market in the neighborhood in the vague hope the stalls might still have some tasty fruit and veg left.
