Touring Bus Overturned into a Ditch

On the 27th of May at 2pm, Dongtan Police received a radio message from Pattaya Police Radio Station that an accident had taken place on Sukhumvit Road near Pattaya School # 7 with many tourist injuries.

Nearby Sawang Boriboon volunteers were contacted and soon arrived at the scene along with Police. At the scene the police found a damaged tour bus overturned on one side in a ditch. The driver Wanit Chauysuk, told the Police that the injured had been sent to hospital.

The driver told Police that he is a bus driver for the First Tour Transport Company. In the morning he had taken12 tourists from Cholchan Hotel to visit Koh Lin at Sattahip.

Later that day around 1.30pm he was driving back to the hotel on Sukhumvit Road at high speed, when a motorbike cut in front of the bus. He attempted to avoid hitting the motorbike, making him lose control and the bus ran onto the footpath and overturned into the ditch.

The passengers of the bus were slightly injury and were sent to Pattaya Memorial Hospital for treatment.
