It's a bit strange that Finland needs to get workers from as far as Thailand, while there is a large supply of agricultural workers from Eastern Europe.

Thai berry Pickers have accommodation where a lot of people share small space. Thats why if one gets covid it spreads easyly. If everybody has their own condo it would be too expensive. Finnish people are too lazy to go get blueberries so we have to get pickers from Thailand. Eastern European people have also tried that but they cant work so hard like Thai people

Typical cheap labour/unavailable local labour scenario; Filipinas working as nannies, as they can speak English, other Filipinos, Indonesians, Vietnamese, etc.,  working on freight and cruise ships, thanks to their education and training. Thais, who neither speak English, nor are good with trades, do what they can do best, i.e. working in Israel's agriculture, or picking berries in Finland...

Don't know how much they make in Finland, but let's say it's 6,000€ in four or five months, that would be a fortune in Thailand, esp. as they won't spend much of their income in Finland. (If five siblings went there together, I can imagine that they could build a house in Esarn for that kind of money.)

I can give you an answer that you maybe don't like: stop sending your infected, so called "fully vaccinated" workers to Finland and Sweden.

There was a program about Thai berry pickers in Sweden last May, but the video is unavailable online. That's unusual.

Tell 'em in Bangkok that nothing is done for those Thai berry pickers; Finn come first, dirty farang next and at the bottom of the ladder then the rest. 

No; Thais can count on the Finnish care like anyone else - except non-Thais in Thailand, but that is another story! 

Right, checked some local news, and surprisingly...all were tested when arriving (this means all berry pickers, Thailand, Ukraine etc.). No infections. Took company bus, and travelled to the housing where they did additional testing after a while (during these couple of days they did not leave housing) and guess what, tens of them were tested positive (not people who were helping except company boss several days later). So now under quarantine and most of them back to negative (one of company which hired them). Of course business down and seems to be that officials are giving hard times to companies when checking them and requesting improvements. Of course who to blame, they knew risks and airport testing is not telling the truth. Berry pickers? Knowing that in the right conditions they could earn 3-4 times yearly income in Thailand, anyone would take a risk for that. Anyway seems to be that many of them are back to work earning by doing hard work. I would not go there, knowing how many bugs are awaiting fresh blood ????

And the correct reply should be how dare you question us.

You refuse to close your canning plants, resulting in thousands of new cases.

You warn your construction workers a week in advance of closing their sites, resulting in tens of thousands of new cases nationwide, and you refuse to even put up a roadblock, preventing people from traveling out of Bangkok, your Covid cluster center of the nation, to prevent the spread.

In addition you completely botched your vaccination program.

And you lecture us? You question us? Who do you think you are? Do you actually think anyone outside of your own army takes you seriously anymore? Your people do not even trust you.

 

You have no credibility. Just zip it, and try for once to be productive men. Can you handle that?
