PHUKET: An American tourist was safely rescued and brought back to Phuket after he was injured on rocks on an island just offshore from Yanui Beach, on Phuket’s southwest coast, yesterday (Aug 29).

The director general of the Department of Disease Control Dr Opas Kankawinpong told Bangkok Business News that three million Thais would get a third booster shot of Covid-19 vaccine in September and October.

Thai cabinet approves budget for another 9.9 million doses of Pfizer vaccine

The cabinet has approved a budget of 4.7 billion baht to procure another 9.9 million doses of the Pfizer mRNA vaccine. He also assured that Thailand will be able to procure a total of 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines by the end of this year.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's economy in July slowed from the previous month as a result of strict coronavirus containment measures, the finance ministry said on Monday, as the Southeast Asian country tries to combat its biggest wave of infections.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's cabinet on Monday approved a further 44.3 billion baht ($1.37 billion) in relief measures, a government spokesman said, as the Southeast Asian country struggles to tackle its worst COVID-19 outbreak.

Dine-in customers to help restaurants recover 50 percent of income

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Thai Restaurant Association has informed the government’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) that the reopening of restaurants to dine-in customers will help restaurateurs recover about 50 percent of normal income. The association has also asked the government to provide COVID-19 vaccines to Thai and migrant workers in the restaurant business, as soon as possible.

Gov’t targets total purchase of 140 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine in 2021

2,542 pregnant women infected with COVID-19, 68 die in Thailand since April 1

A total of 2,542 pregnant women and 134 new-born babies were found infected with COVID-19 between April 1st this year and August 28th and, among these, 68 women and 24 newborn babies have died, said CCSA Spokesman Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin today (Monday).
