Ugandan Woman Fakes Seizure to Evade Immigration Check in Pattaya
Picture from responders. A Ugandan woman attempted to evade an immigration check by feigning a seizure on Pattaya Beach after being stopped by officers late during the night of 7 February. The incident occurred during an inspection by immigration officials following widespread online criticism of large groups of Indian tourists allegedly drinking alcohol, littering, and sleeping on the beach. The social media backlash had raised concerns about the impact on Pattaya’s reputation as a tourist destination. During the routine document inspection, officers approached a suspicious individual, later identified as Miss Irene Nakyanzi, a 39-year-old Ugandan national. As soon as she was asked to provide identification, she fled on foot. After a brief chase, officers caught up with her, at which point she dramatically collapsed onto the sand, pretending to have a seizure, shocking onlookers. Upon verifying her passport, authorities discovered that Nakyanzi had overstayed her visa by an astonishing 603 days, having remained in Thailand illegally since 15 June 2023. After medical treatment she was taken into custody and will face legal proceedings before being deported. -- 2025-02-09 -

Serious Collision on Chalong Krung Road: One Dead, One Seriously Injured
Picture from responders. A serious road crash occurred in the early hours of the morning of 8 February, when a saloon car collided with a motorcycle on Chalong Krung Road in the Lat Krabang district of Bangkok, resulting in one fatality and another person sustaining severe injuries. At approximately 01:15 the Katanyu Foundation unit at Lat Krabang Police Station received a report of a collision near Soi Chalong Krung 1. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance. Upon arrival, rescue teams discovered a grey Honda saloon car with Bangkok registration plates. The vehicle’s front end and windscreen had sustained significant damage. A short distance away, a red-and-black Honda motorcycle, also with Bangkok plates, was found with its front section completely wrecked. Two individuals, both in critical condition, were found near the wreckage. Rescue workers provided immediate first aid before transferring them to Lat Krabang Hospital. One of the victims, a 23-year-old Thai woman, was later pronounced dead. The second victim, a man, remains in hospital with serious injuries. Police from Chalo Khenoi Station are currently investigating the cause of the crash, but initial reports suggests the motorcycle was on the wrong side of the road, when the collision occurred. -- 2025-02-09 -

Village Head Killed in Rubbish Truck Incident in Nonthaburi
Picture from responders. A village headman was killed after being crushed by the rear hatch of a rubbish truck while disposing of waste at a landfill site in Sai Noi district, Nonthaburi. Police from Sai Noi Police Station received a report of the fatal incident at around 18:00 on 7 February. Officers, along with forensic experts and rescue volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, rushed to the scene in Khlong Khwang subdistrict. At the site, authorities found a yellow municipal rubbish truck from Bang Rak Phatthana subdistrict parked near the waste disposal area with its driver’s door open. Nearby, the body of 61-year-old Saeng Boonrod, the headman of Bang Rak Phatthana, was discovered lying on his back. The victim had suffered a deep wound on his forehead and severe injuries to his abdomen. According to rescue volunteer Padej Thesnarin, he received the emergency call and when he arrived, bystanders had already removed the victim from under the truck’s hatch and attempted CPR, but he could not be revived. Witnesses reported that the truck’s hydraulic system had malfunctioned, causing the heavy rear hatch to fall and pin the victim. It is believed that Mr. Saeng was disposing of rubbish when he attempted to clean the truck’s rear compartment. As he lifted the hatch, the hydraulic failure caused it to collapse, striking him on the forehead and leading to his death. Authorities are conducting a full investigation into the incident. -- 2025-02-09 -

If this is the kind of man that will start "that country" back to road of fiscal sanity so be it. Previous leaders of supposedly higher moral character have failed to do it. -
