BANGKOK (NNT) - The Meteorological Department is closely monitoring the development of tropical storm Conson expected to move into the South China Sea this week, while a monsoonal trough and influence from yet another emerging storm is expected to cause more rain in the upper east regions of Thailand from tomorrow.

 

The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in the central, eastern, and lower northeastern regions from tomorrow, caused by a trough that is expected to strengthen from this evening.

 

Meanwhile, the northeastern region is expected to see more rain this weekend from the influence of an emerging storm, which will not directly pass through the country.

 

The Meteorological Department is now closely monitoring the development of tropical storm Conson, which is expected to move in a northwesterly direction from central parts of the Philippines to the South China Sea on 9th-10th September.

 

Provinces in the eastern region, particularly Chanthaburi and Trat, should be on high alert for possible flash floods. A warning has also been posted for Rayong and Chonburi to expect torrential rainfall.

 

Thailand’s capital Bangkok is now expected to see rain covering 70% of the metropolitan area in coming days, with heavy rain expected in some areas.

 

Heavy rainfall in the upper regions of Thailand is now raising the water level in the Chao Phraya River, and posing a flood risk.

 

The Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Chalermchai Srion, has ordered the Royal Irrigation Department (RID) to strictly implement measures in the 2021 rainy season water management plan, and ensuring the preparedness of all irrigation projects to benefit from the rainy season.

 

He urged the RID to perform an advance situation assessment to help prevent flooding, and to follow up on water management plans for various water resources in the country.

WatBoon underwater... 30-40 cm.

I was thinking of making use of our new found freedom with a short trip but propably not worth it until after the rainy season. Must be fun in the Sandbox.

Yeah Suk rd at Pattaya Thai was under this morning with police blocking the rd... 5.30am

It was really pissing down in Chiang Mai last night, really heavy rain,

thunder and lightening.

Easily 4+ inches of rain north of Pattaya.... I expect many areas in town and dark-side were under water.

My part of Isaan has been getting decent rain late last night and all morning. Got some rain the last couple of days as well. Not been a great rainy season so far that's for sure.

Where can I cancel the rain? I have enough for this year.

Yeah, it was hammering down all night here in northern BKK too. Garden has gone from parched to sodden.

 

It truly has been raining cats and dogs maew lae maa for the past week.

Comming down 331 last night (on a Forza !). Was diverted twice due to severe flooding.  Too deep even for the biggest trucks to pass through.  

The 'sandbox' concept of Pattaya now expanded with the Eastern Venice theme...canals instead roads.

Heavy floods, and now hours no electricity.

I remember them blaming That's kinda for the floods way back in 2011.

 

If that happens I wonder who'll they'll blame.

With Jomtien also under 30+ cm water most part, 

Jet ski rentals must do better today inner city than on the beach.

You have got to be joking.

Light rain overnight just south of Hua Hin, about one inch, pool flooded.  Two days ago strong gusts of wind late afternoon and heavy rain.  Malaysia grass is growing fast.

Conson passed over (maybe “touched”) Phuket last night. 
Moderate rainfall. Actually far lighter rain here than three days ago.

No Visible Flooding. Clean washed streets ! Great for Garden…..

Couple of speed boats sunk in the distance 

Heavy rain at 5 am this morning at chiang mai.

Saw a video on FB of some nut walking in over knee deep water on Soi Bong Koch at 4am... surely other areas like Bua Khao and Khao Noi got got it bad too.

Saw the same thing in Khon Kaen a couple of years ago.

Spent all morning clearing up after after the storm from hell hit my house around 6pm last night  in Hang Dong area of CM 

all awnings and wooden stakes holding them up shredded and snapped like twigs.

outside now looks like a scrap yard  it even sucked my upper floor trap door into the loft space such was the pressure ????
