PHUKET: The sea gypsy village in Rawai has been placed under 14-day lockdown, Rawai Mayor Aroon Solos has announced.

 

Mayor Aroon announced the lockdown late yesterday (Sept 9). However, details of the lockdown have yet to be revealed.

 

Calls to Mayor Aroon by The Phuket News today went unanswered.

I did a video of them a few weeks ago. No one wore masks and the children played together (about 10 of them). This does not surprise me about covid. 

Someone local told me 80 cases were found.

 

and yet, this afternoon I went to the Rawai beach area and there is no sign of lock dawn at all. Not a mask in sight either as a by the by.

 

either this news article is complete fake news, the lockdown was lifted immediately after being announced, or I am living in some kind of parallel universe. Any or all could be true.
